Is there any way of telling whether or not the transmission on my truck is the one that originally came with the vehicle? I just my transmission replaced with a rebuilt, used one, and I think that the garage sold me my own trasnmission. :exp:

It looks like it's external. The fluid is definitely leaking out under the truck around the tranny area. My biggest concern is that the tranny needs to be replaced. Even a rebuilt one costs almost half of what I paid for the truck.

I have autohubs, but the four wheel drive had been engaged from the time I left work until I got to where I was. Is there a way that I can check to see if the transfer case is engaging the front drive shaft without putting the truck on a lift?

I don't think my four wheel drive is working. A few weeks ago I had it engaged, the light was on, but I got stuck in about a foot of snow and just sat there fishtailing. Any ideas?

I have the same problem I have the same problem. Once in a while, after braking, I'll hear an initial clunk sound, and then it makes the ticking until I accelerate to a certain speed and then it's gone.

My owners manual didn't say anything, and there was nothing under the hood to let me know what type of oil I should use the last time I changed it. So, I put in 10w-40 is that o.k.?
