timing chain, dealership, ford "customer care" crisis
thanks for opening my eyes to the PO5 program...i had never even heard of that. i guess if it comes down to it i could break that one out and see what they say. i just did a little research on PO5 and it sounds like it's a closely gaurded secret that could apply well to my situation...- dougmc

timing chain, dealership, ford "customer care" crisis
mvanbogart, who did you talk to to get your problem fixed? a dealership or ford rep? or did you have to go farther to get things taken care of?- dougmc

Recycling Used Fluids
check your local recycling centers or solid waste management districts. depending on how things are set up in your area, they may take oil, antifreeze, and other fluids for free. some may charge a small fee...but even with that you'll still feel better about it than dumping it in the driveway...- dougmc

timing chain, dealership, ford "customer care" crisis
hey codepoet get this... a same certain dealership worked on a buddy of mine's ex a while back. nothing too big, except the part where they wrecked it when they took it out for a test drive! and as you can imagine he had to work really hard twisting their arm to get them to own up to it and...- dougmc

timing chain, dealership, ford "customer care" crisis
well i'm glad to know i'm not the only one going through this, but at the same time i'm sad to hear i'm not the only one. i plan to go to my original dealer (a used car lot, non-ford dealer) and get an opinion from them. the guy there has been good to me for two fords so we'll see if he can...- dougmc

timing chain, dealership, ford "customer care" crisis
ok so it's not really a crisis, but a big frustration nonetheless. i've got a 2000 explorer sport sohc with all the notorious timing chain rattles i hear so much about on this board. mostly noisy when idling cold, but still noticable when warm as well. had the 00M12 program completed at...- dougmc

Electric Door Locks Drivers side
if it sounds like the lock is trying to lock when you hit the button, try shooting some wd-40 or similar lube down the side of the lock button that is up top close to the window (can't think of the right word to describe it...hahaha). sounds like a pretty lame tip, but i was having trouble...- dougmc

My Duplicate Key didn't work!
howard, what did it cost for you to get your spare PATS keys from a dealer? i have been putting it off since i got my x (i've only got one key right now) and heard that it was close to 30 bucks for one. is this right?- dougmc

2003 Keyless Entry Code Location..
mine was written on the underside of the cargo hatch...don't know if the dealer or someone just wrote it on there or if that's how they came. just pop open your rear hatch and look at the underside as you open it. mine was written there with a marker i believe. it's a 2000 sport.- dougmc

yo i'm from bloomington...there is a zeibart here. i had a truck done there a few years ago and they weren't able to get it as dark as i wanted. i got some 20% tint today and after lunch i'm going to take a stab at the small rear seat windows to see how it turns out.- dougmc

howdy all...i'm new here...just got a 2000 explorer sport (traded off my little 98 ranger) and i've got a few questions about the sohc v6. at idle (in park) and while in gear with the brakes applied the engine makes kind of a gurgling sound (for the lack of a better description). it seems to...- dougmc
