Front end "clunking" noise
Was it a noise, and could actually feel the thump in the floor board? Almost like the wheel just bound up quickly and freed up? If so than you have a faulty hub. actually, there is a plastic piece or delrin, its a peice that ford does not sell. However it does come on a new hub though, but it...- T-ndz

Single front clunk when breaking
Humm.. sounds like the radius arm bushings. Follow the braces that come from the front diff to the frame cross member. When the bushings wear through the come in contact with the cross member giving you that cluck because the front axle wants to lift upward during breaking. Its pretty common...- T-ndz
