Axle rebuild - now vibration
Charbojoseph, Ok, on your issue when you say 'driveshaft' I am guessing you mean the one fron the transmission rearwards to the axle. I had a problem with mine in the past. One day when driving on the freeway I suddenly got REALLY bad vibration (not what sue is currently). It felt like a wheel...- simonusa0

Axle rebuild - now vibration
Problem: Drumming from rear end. My 2003 XLT Explorer now has only 46,000 miles. The rear axle was rebuilt at 31,00 miles under warranty (whine) then again recently at 46,000 miles after winning a HUGE battle with Ford and the dealer. Got it back....whine gone but now it had a drumming...- simonusa0

03 XLT with New 17" Wheel/Tire Problems
Sidewall and load rating SRJ thanks , greatly appreciated the advice and teaching. (and others who posted) I am still a little confused.....sure, I know any decrease in sidewall means a decrease in bump absorption capability (ride) but with a probable improvement in cornering - apples for...- simonusa0

03 XLT with New 17" Wheel/Tire Problems
Great Forum!! I just changed my stock 16" wheels and Michelin Cross terrain 235/70/16's for some great looking wheels through Discount Tire. The wheels are MB Wheels, 17" 'Gunner 5's and I opted for the exact same tire in the appropriate 245/65/17 size. Sidewall drops only about 5mm and as my...- simonusa0
