kicker vs alpine???
depends on what you are looking for. the kicker (i just got one) is one loud sub, im running 500 rms to it, its a really good hit, great for rap in a ported box. If you want a really clean hit, go with the alpine in a sealed box.- GoodMike

would my amp do well powering a 12? i was at a audio place and they told me my amp wouldnt power a kicker l7 very well...i didnt know if they were just trying to sell me a bigger amp or if he was tellin the truth. also..what type of box would do the best...im very limited on space cause i move...- GoodMike

right now i have a thunder 502 mtx amp running my 10 inch audiobahn sub and it is at 3 ohms...if i got a kicker L7 10inch (one of the square ones) am i gonna be able to run the same amp? or will i need a bigger one? im looking for some more sound.- GoodMike

wiring
so my brother left my car on with out the engine running...and killed my battery cause of my sub...so how do i wire my sub to a different battery that isnt hooked to my car? Do i need a capacitor to keep that battery from dieing or what? please let me know- GoodMike

Sirius Satellite Question
always do installs like these yourself, everywhere wanted 80 dollars just to install, i asked them why, and they told me i wouldnt be able to see any wires. well i spent 30 mins and did it myself, no wires are seen. same with all my stereo stuff...its crazy expensive to let people install for...- GoodMike

thats exactly what i did, i just used the grommet behind the brake pedal, i made my own hole and sealed it up once the wire was through it. works fine for me.- GoodMike

power wire gauge
i was running a 700 watt boss amp for my sub, and i am upgrading to a 1000 watt boss amp soon, right now my power wire is an 8 guage, at what point do i need 4 gauge? should i run 4 guage for my 1000 watt amp? or will the 8 guage do just fine?? only reason im asking is because every place i go...- GoodMike

ok, so i bought a new sub, alpine type r, and i put it in my qlogic ported band pass box, sounds good. but now i have the audiobahn sub..i put it in the qlogic sealed box that the alpine sub came it...it sounds good too...since the ohms are different i know i dont wanna power them off the same...- GoodMike

Adding a aftermarket amp and sub on stock system???
only way i can think of that being possible is if you buy another car battery and wire your amp to that. but you need power! i just ran my power wire underneath the moulding on the driver side of the vehicle, then up the drivers door and there is a little gap that leads to the engine. works well...- GoodMike
