2001 Fog Light Question
Thanks for the advice. I canceled my appointment at Ford because I knew they were gonna charge me for the fix. I had to unscrew the plastic wheel well shield to get to the bulb, but once I gained access, it was a piece of cake to change. I left the pieces of glass inside the housing, too...- sagaynor

2001 Fog Light Question
I have a 2001 Sport with the stock fog lights. I noticed yesterday that the right bulb blew out. When I went to remove it, I noticed that the bulb has shattered inside of the fog light housing. Here's my questions: 1. How do you remove the bulb (do I need to remove any of the underbody to...- sagaynor

Yokohama Geolander AT+ II
I'm OK! Rick, Thank you so much for your concern. It's a miracle, but I and my fellow employees (598 of us) made it out of Tower 2 without any scratches. I have been temporarily relocated up in Hartford, CT. So, if any of you Explorerphiles are located in Hartford, let me know. Thank you...- sagaynor

actually, you need to lay out the cash for any tire (approved or not) if you don't get them from a ford dealership. you are correct in that ford will reimburse for anything other than a wilderness at. however, i called discount tire and tire rack and they both refuse to sell anything other...- sagaynor

Jersey????
Hey everyone, It's been a real long time since I've posted to the forum, but I'm glad to be back. I live in Northern NJ and I am definetly interested in doing some off-roading, albeit some "light" off-roading. I have an '01 Sport 4x4 that I have yet to seriously take off the paved paths...- sagaynor

Yokohama Geolander AT+ II
Hi all, Been a real long time since I posted last. Unfortunately, I've been way too busy. Well, after months and months of waiting, I've finally tracked down tires for my '01 Sport. TireRack had two choices for me this morning: Pirelli Scorpion A/T's or Yoko Geolander AT+ II's. I opted for...- sagaynor

Photos? Jason, I clicked on the link to see your photos, but I can't find the one you describe. I am anxious to see what your Ex looks like with the Michelin's. I am particulary interested in the black sidewall. I just ordered Yoko Geolander's for my truck and I am debating if I am gonna...- sagaynor

Thanks for all of your help. I was actually able to get the head unit out after a few minutes of poking and squeezing. Now I have another problem! Alec, I am experiencing a similar problem to yours. 2001 Explorer Sport - Peeling Door Handles
I am starting to experience the same thing on my '01 Sport. I wear a college ring on my left hand, and it is causing the paint to scratch in a similar way. However, mine is not as bad. I have already talked to my dealer, and they said they would replace them at the next service. The squeakly...- sagaynor

02' Sport
I have an '01 Sport. Everything I have read and heard from Ford, says that the Sport will not change until at least '03. This means that the '02 Sport should be the same as the '01. I am sure there will be a few color/option changes and maybe a few additions here and there, but the overall...- sagaynor

Stealth radar detector.
DocVijay, I am very interested in the Vector LR Remote Radar Detector. My father has been asking me to hardwire his radar detector in his Mercedes for months. Rather than just hardwire the current unit, I would like to purchase a remote detector and custom install it. Here are my questions...- sagaynor

16" Firestones- Telephone call from NHTSA
My '01 Sport has the 16" Wilderness A/T's on it. I purchased my truck in late September, when the tire recall issue was the hot topic. I told my salesperson that the only way I would buy the truck was if it didn't have Firestones, or he cut me a break in price so that I could buy new tires...- sagaynor

Saw 2 '02's in 1 Week!
I live in Northern NJ. This weekend, I saw a 2002 Mercury Mountaineer with Michigan plates driving around the local mall parking lot. The truck was in plain sight (no masking) and in a burgundy color. As if this wasn't interesting enough, I caught a glimpse of a 2002 Explorer yesterday...- sagaynor

Hey fellow Jersey-ites, I live in Northern NJ and I have only had my explorer for about 2 months. I would be very interested in meeting up with you folks to do some off-roading. Since I am new to this "sport," I would like to do mainly trail riding. My truck is leased and totally stock...- sagaynor

Speedy Integra or exploder?
Having just graduated from college in May, I'd like to give you some advice. I spent all 4 years of college driving a 1997 Honda Civic EX Coupe. Nice car - fully loaded, 5spd tranny. Fairly quick (0-60mph in about 8.8secs). I leased my 2001 Sport about 2 months ago. Much happier with the...- sagaynor

Excursion sales
I live in Northern NJ and I work in NYC. There are a ton of Excursions around my area. Seems like every Soccer Mom in town has picked one up. Good time to buy a J**p
About a year ago, I was invited to a Jeep 101 day in Philadephia. I went and was totally blow away by the capability of all three models wearing the Jeep nametag. A fairly complex off-road course was built including some very steep climbs and descents, heavily banked turns and plenty of rocks...- sagaynor

kkm problems?
Regarding the hood liner I just recently learned some interesting information about hood liners. It turns out that the material that the hood liner is made out of is fire proof. The liner is held in with plastic plugs that aren't fire proof. So, if there is a fire in the engine, the heat...- sagaynor

Picking up my '01 Sport Tonight
Hey, thanks a lot. I really like the Cobra R Rims. I called Tire Rack, who sells the rims, to determine the cost to put them on my truck. Tire Rack says that they do not fit. Are your Rims factory authentic? If not, where'd ya get them. Is there a lot of work involved (i.e. spacers, camber...- sagaynor
