Does anyone have a link to a vacuum diagram for an '04 xlt. I found a disconnected hose, little thing with a "T" and a "L" plastic fittings before getting to the rubber fitting at the end. I can not for the life of me find where it goes. It originates from the passenger side firewall? Any ideas?

Well Monday was a wasted day .Did not feel up to the task. Tuesday, the old hub is off. I do not see any evidence of knuckle wear i.e elongated hole, but now it's raining. I assume when the rain stops I need to clean the mating surfaces and splines. grease splines and apply gasket maker/sealer...

Well, I made zero progress today... those three bolts on the back are real muthers. Going out of town for work will not get back to it till Monday. I will inform of progress then. Thanks for all the help.

Yes all three are still screwed in tight. I hope I got to this before the knuckle went. How would I tell if the knuckle is wasted and thanks for all your help

The rotor is off and the hub does move. when I move it I can see the boot behind the assy. move as well

will do. with the tire off should I be looking for an up and down motion or in and out or all of the above

With the tire off the ground I can physically move and see the tire movement

Thanks Thanks for the reply. Symptoms... when I drive straight no problems. When I turn either way the wheels want to lock down and not rotate accompanied by loud grinding and popping noises.

How can I tell for sure if the hub assy. needs replaced ?

I can no longer move the xlt. As soon as I turn the steering wheel in either direction the tires bind up and do not want to rotate

I purchased my xlt about a year ago. Had no problems, then everything seemed to go at once. Brakes, exhaust leak, misfires. and most recently some binding when trying to turn the vehicle. I thought it might be related to the 4x4 because it started with the 4x4 hi light flashing on the dash...
