Trouble starting
I agree with the neutral safety switch . prob bad contacts in the switch . Next time it acts up pull the connector off and with the car in park check for continuity between the terminals on the switch . If its infinity its a bad switch if its 0hms its good- Strike12

Update to engine hesitating
Just wanted to let you guys know I finally discovered why my 1st gen x was hesitating. It ended up being worn rockers and pushrods (I guess not uncommon for those engines ) After the repair it ran great and had power to boot . Then after a week or so it was hesitating again , not quit the...- Strike12

I was able to rent the two wrenches from a local parts for free . They have a free loaner program so it cost me $00 . I was able to change the clutch without removing the shroad completely . Engine running rough, while air is on!
Someone correct me if Im wrong , but on a obdII system you can only clear with a scanner . a obdI system you can do it by disconnecting the battery . I think you can clear the codes by disconnecting the battery , but the truck may run rough for a while til the computer relearns.- Strike12

Engine running rough, while air is on!
Hows the condition of the bolt threads , or are there some threads actually missing out of the bolt holes? The heli coils wont work because the hole is too deep ? They should work though , I never ran into a problem using them before . I may have never ran into a situation like yours before , I...- Strike12

dont know what to think...LOOK
Theres some definitely cool ideas there , but the rear scoops wouldnt be functional , especially tucked behind the cab , dont look real . The box wasnt fitted very well , could have been much tighter . Not sure if bigger rims or lowering the truck was the right solution , but its not right . The...- Strike12

Oh , I was looking at several synthetics and they cover a wide range of fluids . dextron , atf , mecron , mecronV . So Im thinking a synthetic will be your best bet. If you can get it .- Strike12

Not sure what you meant as far as the two center bolts .Did you strip the treads out by over torqueing or did you mean something else? Stripped threads can be repaired by installing a heili-coil , bought at most auto stores . Will have to be drilled over size , taped out , then the heili-coil...- Strike12

Bent Frame Questions ???
I hope you got it next to nothing , cause a frame shop wont be cheap and I hope you find a good one . You have alot of work ahead of yourself . Is it possible to check the timing?
On a OBDI system you can check base timing , by disconnecting the SPOUT connection and then check your timing as usual . You can also check your full advance timing , by running a KOER test , Key on engine running . With the spout disconnected and your in test mode , after a minute or so the...- Strike12

Engine running rough, while air is on!
This my understanding of the OBDII system . You have to use a special scan tool , such as the dealers use .A matter of fact if you disconnect the battery , itll erase stored operating parameters and the truck will run rough for a period of time until the computer relearns the info . The OBDI...- Strike12

I have 53 to 62 inch lbs for the upper intake . Just curious did they clear the codes for you? Was the codes cleared after you changed the o-rings? Did the x run better after you changed them or the same?- Strike12

Engine running rough, while air is on!
Did you buy a inch torque wrench or a foot pound torque wrench . Youll need a inch pound torque wrench to tighten them to 123 inch pounds not foot pounds , you could crush or break a few things at 123 ft lbs. Also make sure the o-rings didnt shift when insatlling them . Try not to move the...- Strike12

Is My Mechanic Crazy or Am I Paranoid?
You said Low Oil , Right? Not transmission fluid? I cant believe low oil would cause this problem , but if it was low enough to actually bind the engine , I guess , but probably not . Was the truck cold in reverse when this happened? Reverse can run as high as 300psi and when the fluid is cold...- Strike12

Engine running rough, while air is on!
If it was a lean situation , then you can use starting fluid , spray it around where the intake bolts to the heads , do it while its cold , if yu you notice any rpm change then you have a intake leak . A safer way is use water in a spray bottle , not as flamable . and if you notice excessive...- Strike12

Engine running rough, while air is on!
Hey peeps , Have you checked the coolant sensor , it might not show its faulty , but could be out of range , ive had this happen and I posted my findings in another thread . SOHC stalls
Its mounted towards the top of the engine , close to the TB , and mounted to the intake , it has two wires and cylinder shaped , not where it bolts. Its about 4.5" long and is held on by two bolts. Its real easy to change , maybe 10 minutes, if your slow .- Strike12

Exhaust & noise coming from intake manifold- HELP!
A bad EGR gasket would sound like a exhaust leak and usuaaly is located on or near the intake . Also smog pump tubes can break , and can be located near the intake , and will have a exhaut leak sound.- Strike12

Noise contiues, still stumped?
I would check out the clutch fan as well . If its worn it could squeel , especially under a load , since this is when it actually slips . If it has bad bearings and is worn , spins easily , itll squeel . Check it out.- Strike12

Reflashing the pcm shouldnt take long at all , and from what I've read has fixed several x's .Reflashing the pcm is similar to reflashing your computers bios its , its an update .AS far as know I know , the codes are the same , but not 100% sure. Engine hesitates with accelerator push...
They can range from roughly $10 - $300 , but a $10 one will do just fine . They are called multi-meters and they will measure ac/dc volts , ohms , and usually up to 10 amps . Try to get a digital one , because there more accurate .Most parts stores carry them and eletronic/electrical supply...- Strike12
