98 Sport V-8 Wiring
I have been doing some investigation on the underhood wiring for my 4.0 sohc to 5.0 v-8 project for my 1998 Sport and the wiring looks to be identical except for the fuel injector harness and the coil pack. I think it will be easier than I thought. Anyone else done this that could...- 271Ranger

Dana 40? 2002 Explorer
The 2002 Explorers have Dana 40's for a front diff. Anyone have info on this unit, strength, R&G size. The housing looks to be larger than the 35 on my 98 Sport. It is also used under the new Expeditions. Thanks- 271Ranger

front diff on 2002
I was looking at the front diff on my 2002 Expl and I am wondering what kind it is. It looks different from the dana 35 on my 98 sport. Also, I looked under a 2003 Expedition and they seem to be the same as my 2002 Explorer. The bolt pattern is not the same.- 271Ranger

4x4 experiment
I put my 1998 Explorer Sport in 4x4 high and then stopped, got under the truck and marked the driveshafts (front and rear) at the same clock position. Next I drove around some corners and I could feel and hear the drive system bind and then release itself. Finally I stopped and looked...- 271Ranger

2002 Explorer and trailer brakes
I bought a 2002 Explorer with the class III/IV hitch. Has anyone hooked up a brake controller yet. The Explorer is prewired and the dealer said there is a "plug in" located under the dash near the steering wheel. Any help would be great Thanks Joe in Omaha- 271Ranger

2002 Explorer
We just got our 2002 Explorer Eddie Bauer with the V-8 and 4x4. I must say it is a wonderful machine. It has great acceleration and rides like a Lincoln. The handling is very nice. There is no noise or vibration of any kind and so far we are getting 17 mpg in town and 22mpg on the highway.- 271Ranger
