the right sound for my ex
Exhaust note. Hi. I was thinking like you some years ago to find the right sound and all, I also thought about back-pressure so the muffler had the least restriction. BORLA has some sound examples for you to hear on there website. I ended up making my own muffler from stainless-steel, it...- iceplorer

92 XLT blown front end???
Hubs. Hi My truck originally had auto-hubs.One day they began slipping and finally they always failed when I needed them most,. You said that you rebuilt your hubs and they worked for a month and then failed again, it sounds like our hubs are broken too me. I got manual-hubs (Dana-Spicer) if I...- iceplorer

Rear end slipping/banging
Hi. You can go under the car and take on the drive-shafts and see if there is some freeplay in the U-joints. If not the problem could be the T-case: bearings, chain. If you can access the filler plug on the T-case you can try too see if the oil has a strange smell or color too it.- iceplorer

`93 XLT with 'dead' 4WD
4wd not working Hi. Well, you can get a book from Haynes for your Explorer, it is very good and everything is taken step by step there. About this problem I think if you hit the dashboard and that helps getting the car into 4WD, the problem is not the T- case itself, must be some connection...- iceplorer

1500 rpm miss, sluggish and bad MPG
maf sensor Hi :) I have found the problem in My Explorer, I took it to my Ford service-station yesterday and the guy plugged it to a computer and the trouble-code was "157" MAF sensor below minimum voltage. I have cleaned it twice an checked the connecting plug to it and that seems ok. The...- iceplorer

1500 rpm miss, sluggish and bad MPG
Hey there in the USA. I went to my FORD dealer here in Iceland looking for a O2 sensor. He told me it costs 400$ !!! What does it cost in the USA ? I bought some stuff to spray into the throttle-body to clean the system from a-z, hope it´s enough.- iceplorer

Transmission shudder?
HEY there. In my case the engine hesitates or misses out and has poor power until it seems to get going again when I take off. On the highway it sems to hic-up while under some load or when I push the pedal to keep up the speed. The engine and the automatic transmission are connected to...- iceplorer

I
1500 rpm miss, sluggish and bad MPG
Hey Ross. I cleaned my MAF yesterday and it did not change anything so I´m gonna look at the O2 sensor and the fuel-filter next. I also think checking wires, vacum hoses an fuel-lines is worth it.- iceplorer

I
1500 rpm miss, sluggish and bad MPG
Hey Guys. My ´93 Explorer acts like that too but not that smoke. I´ve checked the plugs and they are fine. Could the fuel-filter be a factor in this problem? Is "FPR" the Fuel pressure regulator? I think he could be a probable cause for the hesitation or the MAF sensor not metering the low...- iceplorer

Transmission shudder?
Hi! I have noticed this same problem on my Explorer, but not every time I drive it. It seems to me that it happens only when the engine is under 1800rpm in O/D or D and when I take off in D or R. My guess is a vacum leak, MAF or other engine related fault. I am checking my car step by step and...- iceplorer
