Hey Guys... Basically I'm looking for something that I can mount on the battery terminal to attach all my mod wires to. I know they exist but I havn't been able to find them. I have 3 sets of light wires, and my 4 guage wire for my amps that I shoved into the space on the factory terminal...

I actually ended up buying the PIAA 1400 fogs. I just installed them a few days ago on my brush guard after doing some minor modifications. I have 520's mounted on top and the 1400's mounted on the bottom.

From what we've just found out, It appears that prior to 98, the license plate lights were plugged into this socket so yes, you'll need a "T" adapter for your trailer harness since you drive a 97.

I have liscense plate lights but they aren't pluged into the trailer plug. I looked on that site again and sure enough, they have a plug for 96 and 97 explorers that is a "T". Makes sense now because on yours, your plate is on the bumper...my plate is on the tailgate and I guess the lights...

On my 98, I have the round plug you are talking about behind the drivers side rear light. You can see it from underneath by the bumper. Mine had a cover on it which I removed and I bought a connector from drawtite that plugs right into this. I use it all the time for my 4 wire trailer...

I believe all explorers went to the round lights in 99. As far as I know, all models in 98 still had the rectangular lights.

Those are the 2100X Fog lights. I opted for them over the driving lights cause my PIAA 520's on the brush guard are driving lights..so, I wanted to keep a set of fogs somewhere. I'm assuming the 2 will light up with the same type of color...a super white beam that has a bluish tint to it...

i completed the install of my PIAA 2100X in the factory location and wired them to the factory switch. Thanks to everyone who helped my out! It took a bit of work but I finally figured out how to interface the existing wiring with the new relay. The switch is in fact controlling the ground...

got a quick question. I am attempting to gain access to the fog light relay and I'm trying to remove the factory airbox to get to the wires. Can anyone tell me how this comes out? I can't seem to find any bolts or screws that hold it on the plate. Thanks Jon

Ok, I hooked up my meter and test light when I got home today and the switch is in fact controlling the relays ground..I find that kinda strange so tomorrow I'm going to check my friends haynes manual at work and trace the schematic for this circuit. now, if this infact is how this works...
