Just installed b&m shift improver for my 4r44e
I put one in my 96 last weekend. A very noticable difference to me. In postition 2 it now shifts like it should, no racing between gears any more. Only thing I don't like is when slowing to a stop there is a noticable klunk at 20 mph when downshifting to 1st. Seems to have reduced the wait time...- JackC

When there is a difference it starts to apply a clutch inside the transfer case that engages the front wheel drive till the sensors...- JackC

rear end violent clunks around corner
Messing around in a differential is NOT something you want to do. At least without someone who really knows what they are doing right there with you hands on.- JackC

Bad Oil
Is it still water free after a few hundred miles?? And NO oil in coolent? If so, you may have lucked out and had the oil contaminated when the intake gaskets were changed.. Like others stated, check it every time you get ready to start the truck.- JackC

4WD Problems! Help!
As I understand it the shift motor only controls the hi/low gear shift. The clutch controls the fromt driveshaft. If you did not release the brushesh on the shift motor it will not work. And 4wheel low will not work. 2 wheel and 4 wheel auto should work. The noise you hesr may be because the...- JackC

where to readtransfer case codes?
Ok, the clutch is used in 4 wheel low too, just fully engaged. Got it. Thanks. Just wanted to get the operation cleared up before the dealer tries to blow smoke up my butt. And try www.autozone.com for the OBD-11 reader. The shipping will be a little high to OZ, but it beats 10,000!!- JackC
