HEEELP... Will Not Start!
Thanks... I changed my orginal post, so maybe it will make more sense now. The motor was a remanufactured long block. It seems like it isn't getting spark. I am thinking that something is soaked with antifreeze and is not letting it fire. Each time it started it ran fine, but after is sat for...- horseplay01

HEEELP... Will Not Start!
My 96 Explorer 4.0 will not start. First here is what happened.... My wife was driving it one morning to work and the freeze plug blew out the back of the head blowing anti-freeze everywhere. She cut it off before it got hot... so she says. We had it towed to a garage and a new freeze plug...- horseplay01

I found it under the cover at the defrost vent on the dash. Had to remove the cover and shine a flashlight through the windshield to see it. Thanks anyway.- horseplay01

Synthetic in a 01 Explorer
I have a 2001 Explorer Sport that has 50,000 miles. Is this to many miles to start using Synthetic? I use Mobil 1 in my Mustang and was thinking of switching the Explorer from Havoline 5W-30 to Amsoil 5W-30 with an Amsoil filter. Thanks!- horseplay01

Blend door problem in 1997 or not?
You may want to check the vacuum lines from the controls to the door. It would be a good place to start.- horseplay01

Yeah it has keyless entry. When I press the buttons, the lights come on and I can hear the relay click in the dash. I sounds like it is coming from behind the radio. I am going to remove it when I get a chance to see if it is back there. It seems that the late 2001 and the 2002 owners have the...- horseplay01

It isn't in the jack compartment. It is there on my 96 but they moved it around model year 2001. I have a lot model 2001 and it is probably going to be in the same place as the 2002. I will try and remove the radio today. If it is there I will let you all know!!- horseplay01

keypad code
:banghead: I have a 2001 Explorer Sport 4x2 and the build date is 08/01. I have searched this forum for 3 days looking at where to find the code for the keyless entry. I have gone to my local ford dealership and they couldn't find the code on their computer. I checked the left rear - nothing...- horseplay01

number pad entry
Nothing is in the jack compartment but the jack(that is where the code is located on my 96'). I removed the panel on the right side beside the seat, but nothing is there. I did have my wife press the buttons on the keypad while I was setting inside. It sounded like there was a relay clicking on...- horseplay01

Okay, I am not having fun trying to find this code. I can't find any white tabs under the dash for the air bag to be removed. I looked behind the park brake and there is a set of numbers in plain view on a black module, but they don't work. I went to my local ford dealership and they couldn't...- horseplay01
