Grinding Noise While Braking
Wow, thanks MilesTeg. Taking it to my shop is indeed my intention. And don't worry, I am not endangering the lives of others on the road; I have a daily driver, and besides, I dont drive everyday, since I live at work (dorm director). I bought this SUV for the extra space and the 4x4 in the...- vividly

Grinding Noise While Braking
Well, none of what you all describe applies in my case. I think I'll just take it to a shop, someday, I dont know when because I dont know if it will be an expensive ordeal, and my A/C systems needs work, too. It stops fine, its just loud in the cab and it jerks my steering wheel, and its...- vividly

Grinding Noise While Braking
Ok, strange question, if it were the pads, would you hear the grinding noise if someone was standing outside? Because you only hear it from inside the cab. My dad did not hear it while standing outside as I tested the brakes. (I'd check them, but I haven't a clue how...I'm not stupid by any...- vividly

Grinding Noise While Braking
Nope, not a troll, seriously looking for an answer. I know one side's brake pads are fine, someone checked them yesterday, passenger front. I bought the XLT from my dad who had replaced one of the ABS sensors with an aftermarket one and he said that the reason it did that is because the timing...- vividly

Grinding Noise While Braking
I just did a search and sort of found other cases of the problem I have been having - sort of. I have a 94 4x4 and when I press the brake, hard or soft, I hear a grinding noise that sounds "mechanical" and I found that other people had this problem in snow and ice, and it was the ABS kicking...- vividly

Tons of problems with '02 Explorer XLT
My parents also have an 02 XLT. Lots of problems as well. Consumer Reports says this is a trouble-laden year. Their warranty runs out in January, but at this rate, I don't think the problems will end...- vividly

AK LTD's stuff off to the painter's
Painted Stuff Yeah, I just came across a post with his new pics... In case you're interested, it wouldn't be hard to find. He has a 1997 FordExplorer, so go to that .net forum, and click on that generation. He has the same screen name there, too. But be sure to come back here, because this...- vividly

Battery/Fuel Gauges
I tried searching so I don't know if I was using poor search terms, but here is my question: My battery gauge jumps from time to time, like as in jumps off the scale. It occasionally gets stuck as far left as it is probably physically possible to go. After turning the truck off, it sometimes...- vividly
