4x4 disaster! plz help
I have owned a '94 for seven years. I am skeptical of the so called "shift on the fly". I could never comprehend the idea that locking one drivertrain to another while spinning at ANY rpm is a great idea. Being afraid of transmission shops, I made it a personal policy to pull over and stop...- duck210

HUB WONT ENGAGE."94 FOR SALE?"
It has electronic shift on the fly hubs. They are factory. I have the exp on blocks. I ran it in gear then engaged the 4wd. The transfer case powered up the driveline, and the front axles. The hubs are not even close to locking. I had Les S. put new front brakes, rotors, bearings on. My hubs or...- duck210

'93 Sport - Won't Shift in 4-wheel. Lots of Snow!
Update. I have raised the explorer off the ground. I ran it in gear, and activated the 4wd. The transfer case appears to work. I get power from it down to the front differencial and out to the axles. Problem is the hubs are not engaged. I recently had front brakes done. New bearings rotors...- duck210

'93 Sport - Won't Shift in 4-wheel. Lots of Snow!
Funny story. I live in Seattle. We had a snow storm last tuesday and some unusually cold weather. My hubs on my '94 would not engage. I could only think of the recent front brake job that I had done at a major brand shop that happens to give out beef jerky and frozen meat sometimes. My 4wd has...- duck210

HUB WONT ENGAGE."94 FOR SALE?"
I own a '94 Explorer with all of the factory bells and whistles. It is well kept and has 100k on it. I must say truthfully that as of late it has become a major disapointment to me. From broken interior door handles, door panels falling apart, service engine light always comes on at higher...- duck210

Fuel Pump Relay Issues
Hi Zavetsky, When I had the starter relay problem, the motor would turn over. When it's nice and quiet outside keep your door open and turn your key on. You should hear the fuel pump prime for a second. Not saying the dielectic grease is a cure all, but it sure is a cheap and easy fix...- duck210

Fuel Pump Relay Issues
I have had problems with both the starter, and fuel pump relay. I was stranded at work for about an hour one night. The fuel pump would not prime. Finally after jiggling the relay as I had done prior to this episode it started. I had no problems for weeks. Then one day....guess what? It happens...- duck210

Fuel pump....Friend, or Foe?
Thanks Steve. I will look in to replacing the pump after I check the pressure. The thing that I wonder about is that there is no noise. I only hear it start up for a second or two during its priming cycle. I wanted to eliminate any costly repairs, if there was a well known fluke in the system, I...- duck210

Got ignition noise only in one speaker!
Been there and done that. I have actually replaced the stereo unit itself with another identical unit, and have inspected the wires at all of the bend points for cracked wire insulation. Do you know where the ground is on this unit? I may even try to solder a ground to the case, and run it...- duck210

Stereo "CRACKLE" driving me nuts!!
After covering all of the basics, I cant figure out how to fix my factory stereo system. Hopefully that's where you nice people may play a factor. My stereo unit has been replaced once due to a crackle noise, but the new stereo (also factory) is doing the same thing. To get a temporariy break of...- duck210

Got ignition noise only in one speaker!
1994 CRACKLING STOCK STEREO I am looking for some advanced advise. I have a 1994 xlt with the factory system. The problem with this stereo is a Crackling sound through my speakers that I can only temporarily remedy by beating the dash or pushing the face plate until it stops. The noise comes...- duck210
