    Brought the car to the mechanic today..TPLynch was right (thanks!!)..They found air in the PS system and said that the nuts were loose...As to the cause, he suggested that it was a long-running problem and could be 1) the last guy who serviced the car didn't tighten it 2) sabotage...

    Well I have turned it from lock to lock but not while the engine was off....I only did this after the problem surfaced..... If it is air in the PS system, will it cost an arm and leg to get it fixed???? Thanks
