    flashing 4x4 dash lights

    my '97 xlt had a remote starter put in a while ago. after the install , the 4x4 light blinked ever now and then. the remote starter dealer couldnt fix it, so i had him rip it out. now the dealer is closed and the light started flashing again. any help would be appreciated.
