Idle woes kicking my butt
Unless I have two MAF with the same problems, maf has not cured mine. Like I said mine is worse when I turn the ac on. But no matter which maf I put on out of the two it still acts the same.- lwn

Idle woes kicking my butt
I'm having the same problem but mine is a automatic, mine really kicks up when I turn the ac on 1250 rpms in park, Idles down when I shut the ac off. Idle is inconsistant with the ac off at times.- lwn

about changing oil and basic maintaince..
Just a word of caution, always make sure the o-ring comes off with the filter, I have seen the o-ring stay stuck on the filter housing and person screw new filter on to it.- lwn

Vacuum Leak Idle Problem
I've been fighting a simular problem, after checking every pin in the breakout box and every electrical connector I had no luck but mine would idle at 1200 to 1500. To make a long story short, I went to Autozone got a bottle of Textron fuel injector cleaner and it has ideled fine since.- lwn

I had an extra MAF, still doing the same thing, I did disconnect the vent hose from the oil fill and plugged it,, still no change. Took breakout box and checked all the sensor wires for shorts everthing checks fine. I have now changed the egr to an extra I had will see if it will make a...- lwn

Tps measures .92 at idle, CEL came on at about 35mph foot was on the gas when I got the 1.24v idle was still .92v engine was idleing at 1500 rpm's.- lwn

Well I hooked up a breakout box up and the light came on again, I just had taken it out and ran the heck out of it when I slowed to to about 35mph it came on the voltage was 1.24 volts, the voltage at idle is .92 volts. Mr. Shorty, Thanks for the help, voltages check normal, what I have noticed is it is tied to the a/c defrost today stopped at a stoplight I hit the a/c button rpms went up to 1500 rpm at a stop never idled down, turned the switch off, idled down, got going down the road turned the a/c back on...- lwn

MrShorty, yes I have checked for KOER codes passed no problem, I have checked the wiring, checked the terminals on the tps. The tps I put on is new oem so I don't think that was the problem. I checked and tried a different Mass airflow sensor. At this point I don't know what to think.- lwn

RPMs go up, Voltage goes down
Ring on the stator has a short a higher RPM'S very common on Ford altenators. If it charges at an idle then the ring is expanding at higher rpm's causing a bad connection on the wire under it.- lwn

First thing I have to ask is have you changed the oil send on the left front bottomof the engine? The oil pressure gauge works like the idiot light on or off, so I would recommend changing the sender and see if it doesn't correct your problem.- lwn

Replacing your IAC? Read this.
Ya, pull the line off after the vehicle has been driven for a bit, see if fuel comes out or is present. the regulator is up on the fuel rail that feeds the injectors.- lwn

Door panel fire from mirror motor! 10/10
Check, I think Ford may have had a recall because of mirror wiring shorting out. I think the fix was to install a fuse in the supply wiring. To late for that but I would check.- lwn

how do u get the friggin drum off
What I have done is with the wheels off screw a couple of nuts on but leave them loose, start the vehicle go from foward to reverse riding the brakes rock back and forth and you will brake the rust bond in the center of the axle. Sometimes the drum will work itself off.- lwn

I have a 94 explorer that I replace the trans with a Ford rebuild, For the price I couldn't go wrong 3yr 36000 warranty and I don't have to touch it if it does fail. Ford has rebuiders that rebuild the transmissions for them and it is my understanding they do the necessary updates. 8,000 miles...- lwn
