2005 XLT, 4.6, 4x4
If anybody is interested, I’m looking to sell this truck. It’s in the Dallas Texas area. It’s been sitting since I made this post a year and a half ago and I have two other projects I’m working on. Anybody interested?- KaraokeAmerica

2005 Explorer 4.6, 4x4 Engine R&R
Yes, I did. I also looked at every one of the suggestions that came up when I started this thread and typed the subject line. I was more thinking about "wisdom of experience". In this setup is there anything that is particularly tricky for example that isn't from a manual.- KaraokeAmerica

2005 Explorer 4.6, 4x4 Engine R&R

2005 XLT, 4.6, 4x4
It doesn't owe me anything. It's long paid for and has given me many good years. It's just a cool truck and I hate to trash it. I do seem to be between a rock and a hard place......:(- KaraokeAmerica

2005 XLT, 4.6, 4x4
I have been down that road already. It would cost me about $1200-1300 for the cheapest USED motor I can find (still with high mileage) then I would either have to put it in myself (don't have a good place for that nor the time) or I'd have to pay them to do it. Looking at similar, used vehicles...- KaraokeAmerica

2005 XLT, 4.6, 4x4
Howdy. I own a 2005 XLT, 4.6, 4x4. I have had it over a decade and it's been a great truck over all. Recently, I had to change the intake because several of the brass coil hole holdown inserts were stripped and it was leaking a bit. It was an eBay intake that likely came from China. I used the...- KaraokeAmerica
