Trailmaster '98-'00 update...
HAve to wait in Oz Well. Just read the last six pages. Looks like I have a long wait to get a kit into Australia. I may end up doing a custom job myself. I just gave up trying to find a decent roof console here that was stong enough to hold both my UHF and 27meg radios, well that's if I didn't...- golby

99 5.0 rear sag
My 98' lemon had three genuine ford replacements because of sag. I made my own extended shackles, it pretty hard to get Explorer bits in Australia, They made a great short term lift and took away the rear droop. BUT, after three months the leaf springs just kept sagging. Finally my local dealer...- golby

HELP!!!! Locked out, need to break in!
Explorers are simple to break into. I found out the hard way but it's just too easy. I am actual very annoyed how easy it was. But here goes. Drivers side door, (Australia is right hand drive) but i guess both sides are the same. Lift the door handle and on the left hand side there is a hole...- golby

rear leaf spring problems '98
My rear leaf springs seem very weak. I've had a new set replaced by Ford under warranty and 20,000kms. Now at 24,000kms they are again showing signs of being stuffed again. Then longest / top leaf has a downwards bend at each end and all the wear slippers are either snapped off at the round...- golby

Trailmasters 4inch Lift Photos Online!!
Rick Do you know trailmasters website? I'd really be interested in this 4" lift. I tried the number you posted with the USA prefix but it doesn't work from Australia. I have asked a few local 4x4 mod places here and they are talking about a 4" lift coming from the states. I'd love to...- golby

Just did Andrew Brlics easy lift. '98
Just did Andrew's easy lift on my '98. All went well and it took about 45mins. My original rear springs hangers/shackles were 5 and a 1/2 inches between centres. I manufactured my own at 8 inch centres. This gave me 1inch and 7/8 lift. I had them at 8 and a half inches at first but I found that...- golby

Wonnangatta Station run Vic' Australia Nov'
Thanks Rick, I've posted a submission at the sofcom site. It's got some good stuff on there but doesn't come close to your site, but I guess I'm a bit bias. Explorers rule. I'll certainly keep trying. Mine is basically stock but so far has gone everywhere the ?#@**!* brands go. Even those with...- golby

Wonnangatta Station run Vic' Australia Nov'
Any Aussie Explorers interested in a run to Wonnangatta Station in Victoria's Alpine region. November 5th,6th,7th. I have about 10 trucks going. Unfortunately mine is the only Explorer. The trail in is easy and on the way out there is plenty to see and steep tracks to climb. From Wonnangatta to...- golby

'99 Explorer 4x4 System Problems
My 98 problem was similar, but it wasn't so much jerky, it felt like driving over very small speed humps while accelerating in 2nd or 3rd gear. It too was ok in 4x4 high. In manuals the problem is more noticable but is still there in autos too. My problem was some problem in the transfer case...- golby

'98 explorer Australian Lift
To all those Aussies that hit this great site. ARB are almost ready to release a lift kit off the shelf. Along with Old Man Emu they are currently testing new leaf springs. If it's like the other OME products it will be better than new. At this stage though they're only going to 2" but at least...- golby
