2004 Explorer Transmission Issues
Final follow up with the tranny rebuild. The truck runs great (yes new torque converter was put in truck) I am hoping to get another 10yrs out of her. This will become my winter vehicle in a couple of years so I can store the mustang. I would love a new Explorer for my wife but the cost is crazy...- mustangman

2004 Explorer Transmission Issues
Wow I guess I won't complain about mileage then. My wife drives the truck as her daily driver stop and go city and gets 16.8l/100km or 17 mpg and on hwy trip we have seen 23-24 mpg on trips to Montreal keeping hwy speeds at a safe 110km about 70mph. My mustang is the economy car in the family :)- mustangman

Those were the days for the US I can remember dreaming of going to the US but not due to the exchange rate. as far as thread names I am on so many sites they are interchangable. I have an '08 Bullitt as well and live on IMBOC.com I am getting the torque converter unfortunately it was not in the...- mustangman

Tire pressure idiot light on 2004 XLT
Thanks for the warning, I had my buddy do it. Made sure he's done this type of rim before. As for the valve caps not being the factory ones, will the sensor not read correctly? I haven't noticed anything?- mustangman

Tire pressure idiot light on 2004 XLT
I was wondering if you require metal valve cap covers. Someone stole them off our truck. Yesterday I noticed a nail in the rear tire so I swapped it for the spare. The tire monitor idiot light goes on? Is this because the spare tire is on? Do I require metal valve caps? I read in another thread...- mustangman

Spas got BULLITTS >:D
Cool I've got a friend from the Bullitt Club who has a set, and lives 30 min. from me. I may have to give him a call now to see if he'll seperate the tires from the rims. Wow a Bullitt Mustang and now I can have a Bullitt XLT, if it was only DHG. :D- mustangman

Bullitt rims look great. I didn't have a chance to read through all the post, would anyone know if they would fit a 2004 XLT?- mustangman

Regarding oil, would 10W30 work
Wow  good answer. To take a line from one of my favorite movies : "Check out the big brain on FL oil Guy" Thanks for the info. I knew the first number had to do with flow quality on start up. At least now I know 5w30 or 10w30 will be as good as each other.- mustangman

Regarding oil, would 10W30 work
If I can find it I will. The 2 places I usually buy oil are Canadian Tire and Walmart. I'm just going to have to look harder. I could not find anything other than 10w30, 10w40, 20w50. The dealer has it but they charge almost twice what the 10w30 Quaker state goes for. I do use the FL-820 ford...- mustangman

Regarding oil, would 10W30 work
Short and to the point. Works for me. I did do a thread search and found quite a few good threads. I was thinking of going to synthetic and changing the oil every 6 months. It's my wife's truck so it is primarily used for taking the kids to school and short trips. She puts approx 20,000 km...- mustangman

Regarding oil, would 10W30 work
I plan on doing my own oil changes and was wondering if the viscosity differnece between 5w30 and 10w30 will be a negative to my engine. The truck is an XLT with 4.0L. I have looked at Canadian Tire and Wallmart and could not find 5w30 oil. What do you all think. Will 10w30 be fine?- mustangman

I got a coulpe of Bullitt buddies in the LaSalle area. Pretty close to Windsor I think. They get to alot of the Michigan events because they're so close.
