Engine swap: v6 to v8
What's the difference. You would be swapping all the 96 parts over. It would become an OBD2.- 351explorer

It sounds like the governer is sticking. I'm not real familer with aode's. But that what my aod did when I first swaped it in. I replaced it and the problem went away. The aode's might be eletronicly controled. Did you try your Ford dealership?- 351explorer

Ok, If he has a 96 5.0L, He has everything he needs. Swap the complete wiring harness over with the engine. Absolutly no cutting, splicing, or hacking. I don't know what skill level he is at, but I know that I could do a swap like that in a weekend. But I also have been a flat rate tech in a...- 351explorer

Engine swap: v6 to v8
Once you have the basics done, then you can start with the power makers. Cam, supercharger, intake, twin turbos,ect..... The swap will eat up a lot of you money to in the begining, then slowly get stuff and bolt it on. Carbs are for muscle cars, EFI is the way to go.- 351explorer

Engine swap: v6 to v8
You should find a totaled 95-? 5.0 explorer. All the parts you would need and everything would just be a swap, bolt in . No moding at all. Very simple. You just have to find a totaled explorer.- 351explorer

Then welded brakets in my truck, and bolted it. I knotched the radiator support so I could get to the...- 351explorer

JohnnyFiveOh and 351 swapers
Johnny, It sounds like you are well on your way with your transplant. When I purchaced my 5.0 from a friend, for my first swap, he threw in an AOD with the deal. I think it was an 89 mustang gt. Any year gt will work. Did you get a outputshaft with your transfer case adaptor. Your going...- 351explorer
