    Mercury Mountaineer battery dead! can't open hood!!!

    Hi. I'm new to these forums, I just recently got a 1997 mercury mountaineer and the hood opened when I first got it. Now it won't open! And to make matters worse the battery died! Is there an emergency release to the hood somewhere? Please help and thanks in advance!
