yea my 96 does almost the same things...im hoping its an injector though, about to check it out here in a few mins.

subscribing...my 96 4.0 has the same problem..it actually cut off yesterday with the a/c on while idling at the gas station! i put it in the shop this morning to get the 4x4 serviced but this problem still bothers me.

hey, the temp gauge doesnt register on my '96 with a 4.0... it runs fine though, and gets up to temp b/c the heat blows. what could be the problem? Thanks, James

today i picked up a wiring harness and dash kit, and pulled out the stock HU, and the main power harness fitted with the one i bought, but then the one for the speaker wires wouldnt fit? what should i do? Thanks, James

hey thanks for replying.. i just checked and it has the JBL system in it... do i HAVE to bypass the JBL system or can i just run it regularly, along with another amp and sub? because i dont plan on changing the regular speakers or amping the speakers at anytime. Thanks, James

today i just bought a 96 explorer 4x4 with a 4.0 SOHC v6... looking for a lil more umph lol... i was looking on ebay, and it had intakes for 91-94, and then 97+? how come there is no intake for the 96's? I tried to search on here but still didnt find anything. thanks, James
