6-Speed Manual Conversion
Sorry, I don't come on here very often anymore. As for the adapter plate, I posted a link in the original post to a mustang website. I purchased the tr6060 kit from the guy on there, at the time I think he charged about $700 for it.- BenRM94

SCT Speedo Adjustment
SCT says it can't adjust the speed reading in the abs module? Has anyone else had an issue adjusting a 98-2001 explorer speedo with an SCT tuner?- BenRM94

SCT Speedo Adjustment
I have a 2001 Explorer that I recently changed the tire size on. I also have an SCT SF3 programmer, so I thought I wouldn't have any problems with my speedo, but here I am :thumbdwn:. I have tried changing the tire revolutions per mile, and I've tried changing the axle ratio, but neither has any...- BenRM94

2007-2011 Ranger Head Unit no Sound
Were the newer Rangers wired differently or did they use different pins for the speakers? Or could this have something to do with the rear audio controls on the Explorer console since the Rangers didn't have them?- BenRM94

2007-2011 Ranger Head Unit no Sound
I put a new (2007+) Ranger stereo head unit in my 2001 Explorer. Both of the pin connector plugs clicked in perfectly, but the speakers aren't getting any sound. The head unit powers up and works every way I was expecting it to, except the speakers don't get any sound/power. I tried playing with...- BenRM94

6-Speed Manual Conversion
PCM Codes were fixed with an SCT tuner  Cruise control works fine, just have to make sure not to touch the clutch pedal while using cruise, and turn cruise off to shift. Or shift really fast, because it will rev up with the clutch pushed in and cruise on (cruise is pulling the...- BenRM94

Rev Limiter Problem
Unfortunately I only have a tuner, not the software. What else could I do? So I just checked, we did connect pin 12 (pink) to pin 10 (tan/red stripe) because it wouldn't start before that...- BenRM94

Rev Limiter Problem
Wow 2000StreetRod that's perfect. We did jump two cables but I honestly forgot which ones. The wires we connected did allow the starter to crank, but unfortunately the rpm will only go up to 4700 (that's all that the sct programmer allows in neutral for whatever reason).- BenRM94

6-Speed Manual Conversion
These guys did an amazing job with the shifter. It's the same transmission as mine but they obviously raised the shifter and brought it much closer to the dash. ps... I've chirped 3rd occasionally myself :D- BenRM94

6-Speed Manual Conversion
I've pretty much given up on the oem look, I'm thinking along the lines of using the Ranger tray and cup holder setup just to cover where the center console used to meet the center stack. Hopefully someday I'll get a custom shifter that sits further forward, and I'll just slap a nice boot on it...- BenRM94

6-Speed Manual Conversion
Actually the MT-82 was simpler due to having a 23 spline input shaft which matches the M5R1, as well as both transmissions having a hydraulic clutch, but it helped that used MT-82's are dirt cheap and plentiful (paid $900 for mine, including shipping). The biggest reason I decided on this...- BenRM94

6-Speed Manual Conversion
I have a 2001 Explorer XLT 4.0 SOHC with a Getrag MT-82 6-speed manual transmission from a 2011 Mustang GT. It was a great learning project for me, and luckily I had my dad's mechanical expertise to guide me. It took about a month and required a good amount of modification. It's mostly complete...- BenRM94

Rev Limiter Problem
Hey everyone, I have a 2001 Explorer 4.0 SOHC which came with a 5r55e auto transmission, but I swapped it to a manual transmission. I have a few small problems (mostly code/check engine light related). The biggest issue though is that the computer thinks I have the "auto" in neutral all the...- BenRM94

Thank you for the quick reply  but I've heard that's not a good idea, something about clutch bolts being special? :wtf: I'm willing to give that a shot at this point anyways. :salute:- BenRM94

Clutch Bolts
These things don't exist! :thumbdwn: Alright, so I'm doing a good ol' auto to manual swap and my clutch kit didn't come with the six bolts that connect the pressure plate to the flywheel. Not a big deal... or so I thought. I've been to Pep Boys, Napa, a garage, and my local dealership...- BenRM94

Automatic Trans Programming Delete
Thank you for all the help 2000StreetRod  :D So you're saying that any SCT would work, it just depends on the tune? Also, are there any disadvantages to deceiving the PCM?- BenRM94

Change the tensioners?
Wow! So much mixed up information on the internet  So I've done some more research and I believe I have pinpointed the problem, but would still like an expert's advice, or even opinions. I now believe that the problem I have is with the main cam chain and not the secondary ones. It...- BenRM94

Automatic Trans Programming Delete
I know most people recommend throwing in a manual ECU, but I've heard it is possible to delete the transmission software from the automatic ECU... Anyone know anything about this? Automatic Trans Programming Delete
This isn't going to happen any time soon, but I'm planning to do the ol' auto to stick swap once I've finished many more important things. I know this is somewhat common on Rangers and even Mustangs with the 4.0 SOHC, though I haven't heard as much about the Explorers (which doesn't worry me...- BenRM94

Change the tensioners?
My 2001 Explorer 4.0 SOHC is amazing! :D  It launches, pulls hard, averages 19-21 mpg every tank, and even the transmission shifts quick and firm, but it tics... :thumbdwn: It has a slight ticking/pinging sound from approximately 2500-3000 RPM under load. I know that this is related...- BenRM94
