    Ceramic Pads?

I have a 93 Explorer 4x4 and went with Raybestos QS ceramic pads. Using brand new Motorcraft rotors, the ceramics warped my rotors in under 10K miles (vs. semi-metallics where I'd get 40-60K per brake job). I had them turned, replaced the pads (under warranty as one was cracked), and 7K miles...

94 Factory Sub Impedance? 8 ohm or 4 ohm?

I've search the board multiple time and come across differing answers. For a 1994 Explorer w/the factory sub, is the 6.5" sub at 4 ohm or 8 ohm resistance? A friend's sub failed and they want a cheap replacement... Thanks!

    Replaced tensioner, still squeaks

Fixed! Beware of Autozone if you have an early 93... If you do, be sure to ask for a 1992 belt (slightly shorter) and your problems are solved! Thanks for the assistance!

    Replaced tensioner, still squeaks

Okay, I tried a) & b) to no avail. It is the belt making the noise as a bar of soap (ground into the belt w/engine on to give the belt a bit more traction...an old trick from days gone by) fixes it temporarily... Then I went back to the web to check NAPA as I bought my most recent belts at...

    Replaced tensioner, still squeaks

IAC? Are you referring to the A/C compressor? I had that done about 15K ago (w/a Motorcraft compressor, not junk).... After reading some of the other posts elsewhere, I am going to try: a) lubing the idler pulley (not the belt) b) sanding the smooth side of the belt c) and if that...

    Replaced tensioner, still squeaks

I have had the same problem on my 93. Replacing belts frequently (every 5-10K) seemed to solve it until now. Even tried a Ford belt (at $40) to no better avail than Kelly Springfield belts or Goodyear Gatorback belts. Ultimately I was so frustrated w/it that I replaced the tensioner at ~$90...

Where is the ABS Sensor on the First Gen

Can you remove and replace the sensor without removing the rotor? On my '93 4x4, it looks like I have to pull the rotor to do so....

ABS idiot light out of the blue

You can buy a Ford code reader at Autozone or Kragens that will also allow you to read ABS codes. I can't remember which store I bought mine at, but it will say on the box if it can read ABS codes or not. It takes some (but not all) of the guesswork out of the ABS light. On a 93, the plug...
