It's the 5r55w. I had another shop do it for $1800.

It was not a band, it was another part, which broke several other parts in the chain. Metal all over the place=total rebuild. What I'm trying to find out, is if there are problems with the transmission in this vehicle, and what I can do to get something back from Ford for this rebuild.

sorry it's a 4x2 xlt 4 door. it does have a simialr sound. they told me it was a broken band.

I've got an 02 with 75k on it. Problem started on Sunday with the O/D light flashing, then making a noise yesterday when accelerating, both problems came and went. Today it started slipping driving from Montgomery to MEM. I made it back and took it to a dealership. They are going to look at it...

I found it, thanks. Owners manual says to replace at 30k. Wife drives alot, almost 42k.

That's where it is on my '97 f150, but I've checked both side rails and it is not there. I've Ialso tried following the fuel line ex-the tank and can't find it.

I'm trying to replace the fuel filter on my wife's 2002 explorer, but I can't seem to find it. Can anyone help? It's a 4.0 v6.
