It was not a band, it was another part, which broke several other parts in the chain. Metal all over the place=total rebuild. What I'm trying to find out, is if there are problems with the transmission in this vehicle, and what I can do to get something back from Ford for this rebuild.- TIDE24

sorry it's a 4x2 xlt 4 door. it does have a simialr sound. they told me it was a broken band.- TIDE24

02 trans problems?
I've got an 02 with 75k on it. Problem started on Sunday with the O/D light flashing, then making a noise yesterday when accelerating, both problems came and went. Today it started slipping driving from Montgomery to MEM. I made it back and took it to a dealership. They are going to look at it...- TIDE24

I found it, thanks. Owners manual says to replace at 30k. Wife drives alot, almost 42k.- TIDE24

That's where it is on my '97 f150, but I've checked both side rails and it is not there. I've Ialso tried following the fuel line ex-the tank and can't find it.- TIDE24
