I just replaced the head unit in my Mounty. The wiring guide that came with my Clarion headunit lists that wire as 'Signal Ground - Connect with Black Wire'. I ended up just combining it with the chassis ground with solder/heat shrink tubing. It's been working great for about 2 weeks that way.

OK, I see Crutchfield has some Infinity Kappa 52.9i's for $130, which isn't too bad if the quality is there. Does anyone else have any suggestions of some other brands you've had good experiences with.

I had already done all the soldering connecting the two wiring harnesses together. After you posted that, I went out and checked, but I still have full dimmer control of the truck's dash/message center. The headunit doesn't dim, but I wasn't really expecting that.
