How to: Replace Spark Plugs and Wires – 97 Ford Explorer, 6 Cylinder, SOHC
This was incredibly helpful! I switched out my plugs and wires on my 2000 Mountaineer V8 yesterday. It went great thanks to this post. One thing I found with the V8 engine (Mountaineer at least) is that the drivers side plugs/wires come out a lot easier through the wheel well as opposed to from...- Steenbag

Black/White Ground Wire?
I just replaced the head unit in my Mounty. The wiring guide that came with my Clarion headunit lists that wire as 'Signal Ground - Connect with Black Wire'. New speaker advice
OK, I see Crutchfield has some Infinity Kappa 52.9i's for $130, which isn't too bad if the quality is there. Does anyone else have any suggestions of some other brands you've had good experiences with.- Steenbag

New speaker advice

Right now I'm looking at 2x Infinity Reference 5022i for the front, and 2x Infinity Reference 6822cf for the rear. Does anyone have any thought about these...- Steenbag

No dimmer lead on headunit
I had already done all the soldering connecting the two wiring harnesses together. After you posted that, I went out and checked, but I still have full dimmer control of the truck's dash/message center. The headunit doesn't dim, but I wasn't really expecting that.- Steenbag

No dimmer lead on headunit
Hey, I just got a new head unit (Clarion FZ409). The wiring harness from the truck has an orange 'illumination' lead, and an orange/black 'dimmer' lead. However, the radio only has one orange/white lead labelled 'illumination'. Should I just connect the car's dimmer lead to chasis ground, tape...- Steenbag
