Ford Credit Card?
Citibank replaced the Ford Card with the "Drivers Edge" Card. It gives you rebates you can use for any type of car, even used cars. Only problem is the rebate is like 2% instead of the 5% that Ford offered.- Lewdog

2001, I just looked at your truck. Is that pic after the torsion twist? And are those 16" rims? Your truck looks just like mine- Lewdog

Build your Wrangler fighter here!
I would like to see doors that are easily removed, removable hard top, built in soft top, better ground clearance. I guess my ideal would be similar to the current wranglers, but with a somewhat longer wheelbase, and styling remniscent of a mid 70's Bronco.- Lewdog

Response to Nissan's Supercharged Pathfinder vs. Explorer?
Yep, I'm talking about the Mercedes SUV. They claim it's the fastest SUV out there. I could really care less. Fast cars are the reason my insurance rates suck...- Lewdog

Ford Oficially Acquires Land Rover
I also heard about a redesign of the Defender. I know it doesn't make sense to import it before the remake. I was more hoping they would take US safety standards into account when they redesign it, and import it here. The Freelander looked more like a Suzuki Sidekick to me, maybe a little...- Lewdog

Response to Nissan's Supercharged Pathfinder vs. Explorer?
I also think the Sport has ample power. It's faster than my Mustang (V6). It won't beat a M-class, but it's a lot more versatile...- Lewdog

Ford Oficially Acquires Land Rover
I also read in the Detroit News that Ford/Rover was going to bring over the Freelander to the States. The Freelander is a little RAV4-type rig, but with some fairly impressive factory options, such as a demountable winch. Come on, Ford, Bring back the Defender...- Lewdog

Why Ford, Why????
I read somewhere on the net (so it must be true) that Ford is planning to offer a manual 5-speed on the 2001 Explorer as a late-year option. Then I read that the project was being delayed. Didn't Ford just buy Land Rover? Maybe they'll bring the Defender back...That may have influenced...- Lewdog

New 2001 Explorer Sport
I agree that the performance gains seem small. It made a much bigger difference in my wife's Mustang. Too soon to tell the fuel economy, but even 1-2 mpg would be great. I've been getting around 19 mpg, hoping to get over 20.- Lewdog

Tillamook would make a great place for a run. There's lots of camping in the area. And yes, it's close to Beaverton (about 30 minutes). I haven't been to Moab (yet), so I can't offer a comparison.- Lewdog

I haven't heard of any action at Tillamook on the 4th, but that doesn't mean there isn't... My Sport is stock, but last weekend at Tillamook convinced me to buy some tires, and see about lifting it.- Lewdog
