97 Sport 4x4 Lift???
Thanks for the updated picture. Is that the picture with just a bodylift, or with the TT, AAL, and other mods? Can you give me some specific item names and where to get them? Id like to have this done for a trip in one month. Not to just 'COPY' your rig, but it looks nice and id like to...- TallKDR

97 Sport 4x4 Lift???
I see theres a big gap in that bumper area on the body lifted explorer. Is that just because the kit didnt come with new brackets, or is that really the only way to leave it and keep it strong? It looks a little funny i must say, but i could live with it. Also, you said thats your explorer...- TallKDR

97 Sport 4x4 Lift???
I always read on manufacturer websites, to not combine susp lifts with body lifts. What do you guys think on that? I was going to start out with a body lift and see if i wanted more clearance.. but then i remembered that. If this is the case, id rather have a 4" suspension lift. Thanks...- TallKDR

97 Sport 4x4 Lift???
I just bought a 97 Sport 4x4, 5spd. I read that there arent much lift options for the 95-97 years. What am i supposed to do? I had a 91 XLT 4x4 that was fun stock.. Id like to lift this one enough to have 33's (i already have them from my toyota). Am i stuck doing the twist and...- TallKDR

Can you screw 100mm Torsion bolts all the way up?
I read that you should always take the weight off the truck before adjusting them or you risk breaking them. Atleast thats what all the toyota people said about their pickups. Is that the common thing? are YOU doing it?- TallKDR

Synthetic Gear Oils
Now that I decided to keep the explorer, I figure Ill do some maintance to show it I care about it :P I dont think the previous owner did much stuff to it, so Id figure the gear oils are unchanged. What kind do you guys recommend? A lot of sports car people swear by RedLine gear oils and...- TallKDR

Worthy offroader?
Thanks for the reply. I do understand going offroad can break things, I just wonder if these explorers will break more than a toyota or ranger (mainly just putting up with less stress from weight). Also, to keep up somewhat, Ive been thinking of a lift. But lifting this already large tall...- TallKDR

Worthy offroader?
Hello everyone. I finally got my recently purchased 91 5spd 4x4 running. After two new heads, gaskets, and all the usual stuff, its running great. I went offroad with a few friends of mine in their pickups, and had some fun a few times now. Two rangers, and a toyota. I must say the...- TallKDR

Any actual experience on this site?
Hi everyone. I hope this doesnt turn into some flaming thread against me lol. I was just somewhat amused by how some threads get hundreds of views while mine got 20 when it was about something like getting one of our beloved explorers back on the road. Ive been reading my post again and...- TallKDR

Any actual experience on this site?
I have seen the few people that install crazy lifts.. thats amazing. But i rarely read about anything serious. Im not trying to degrade people.. but the TPS post just kills me..80 replies about exactly how to do it or not sure if its worth it because not many others are showing interest. Just...- TallKDR

Any actual experience on this site?
Ive been around this site for a while without a SN, but finally got one to post about my cracked head. Turns out, only about 20 people even opened it because I guess it had 'heads' in the title and that didnt interest them. Nobody replied. It seems like this message board is more about...- TallKDR

Heads done for?
Hi everyone. Ive been hiding behind the scenes reading things around here for a while, and finally realized I should just ask you guys instead of wondering and figuring things all out by myself. I bought a 91 explorer that obviously had water leaking into the oil, and also into the combustion...- TallKDR
