Looking like we have a venue then.... now how about a month, perhaps if we start to narrow this down to a month at least then we can attempt to get a date organized. I myself am not planning a holiday this year due to projects at home :( So any month is good with me, although it would be...

    Ignition key cutting..

It seems everything for the Explorer is expensive parts wise over here in the uk. My dealer told me that to have the key programmed I would have to book the car in and pay normal workshop rates,(god knows how long they were thinking of taking to charge me £100) which of course means I WONT be...

    Ignition key cutting..

Hi Guys,... Yes I got my blank from Ebay, But I only have one key :( so that option is out.. but when I get this one done I can at least now do another myself. Looks like I will have to try some other locksmiths or the like, as Ford have quoted me £15 to cut it and then up to £100 to programe...

    Ignition key cutting..

Hi... Can anyone in the UK tell me where I can get a new key cut. I have the blank, but I need to get it cut and chipped. Is it a trip to Ford or do you know of anywhere else? I have been to my local keycutting shop but they say they cant do the 98' Explorer, as the chip code changes each time...

Looks like I hit the send button too quickly...I was saying... I notice at the moment that we seem to be quite close in location so far... Essex, London, Cambridgeshire and Buckingham, but I am sure there will be some from further parts. Maybe it would be an idea for one of us to have a list...

    CD Changer cover

Remove the 6 CD changer from the rear of the car. In my 98' the CD changer unit is located in the rear of the car driver side. I want to take the unit out, but it has a kind of plastic trim all around it, I can't work out if the trim pull's off or has some kind of locating lugs? it is not...

    Good Radio and Changer

I have to say I have not really noticed a dull sound from MP3, and I am quite critical with my sound listening. I did play recorded discs and then play the original to see if there was a noticable difference and on the whole I dont think there was to much of a difference, if any. Some recordings...

    CD Changer cover

Hi Dave.... I still have had no reply on this, I also asked the question awhile back and got no reply. Do you or anyone else know, if you can buy a blank plate of some sort if you remove the changer, as I want to take mine out (if I find out how) so I can sell it with the ford head unit.

    Good Radio and Changer

Hi Viper, Dont know if this helps but I have just made a change to my headunit. I am no expert on these matters so I went to my local Audio guy, and very helpful he was. As he told me if I got a new headunit it would not control my Ford changer so I would have to get a new changer as well...

Well if we start talking about it now, when the weather does get better we should all be well prepared. What we need to do is to start to get an idea of who would be interested. Lets hope that a few more people will start to notice this thread and register an interest.

Well by the look of it you did try to start something, have you had any more interest for this year?? Maybe another location this year for a meet with as much notice as possible. We could even make it at another place of interest in the country for our American friends to check out the...

A couple of questions from a new owner...

Yes it is 4x4 and I do have that control, so you think it could be normal if its too do with the 4x4.... If the oil and stuff is good then maybe I can relax, although I wish it was as quite the other gears.

A couple of questions from a new owner...

Hi all... thanks for your answers.... I will check out the oil condition and level for a start. The reving on cold start is more high low, high low high low reving than high and dropping off, I guess its not a problem just weird why it does it. As for WISE GUY'S comment about the whine comming...

I notice that there is a slight whine (maybe not the right word, but a noise of sorts) in the first two gears as I accelerate, when it changes into 3rd 4th and 5th its silent, any ideas what this could...
