Ok. Well I got the trainer so I'll give it a go and see what happens without training first.- brianp6621

This isn't quite clear to me. You had the summers back on and they were remembered. However, how did you train the winters in the first place? I am about to get my winters (for next year) and will be mounting them and throwing them on to make sure everything is good to go next year. Won't I need...- brianp6621

I was looking at the Thule force XL. I don't know how it attaches to the rails and if there will be enough room. Edit From the Thule website it shows as compatible with the stock cross bars so I think I'm ok- brianp6621

2016 - 2017 crossbars weight restrictions
I just got a new sport and they said not to get the ford cross bars for a different reason, that they interfere with the moonroof when it opens? and that aftermarket (Thule) rails were necessary. Has anyone heard anything about this?- brianp6621

Do these work for 18" rims? I'm putting stock 18" explorers rims on the 2017 as winter wheels. Will I need the TPMS trainer- brianp6621

I'm doing this on our new explorer sport 2017. I bought stock explorer 18" rims. Will these fit the 18"s? And do I need a programmer for my own Tue swaps? Or do they self program.- brianp6621

Winter Tire and Wheel Recommendations
Now I'm pretty set on the WRG3s in 18" but can't find any. I either need the 245/60/18(-1.5%) which is what is recommended in the Manual or 235/65/18" (exact size match) I'm concerned about the 235s being too a little too narrow for the Sport during normal dry driving.- brianp6621

Need winter/snow advice and potentially tires
I actually ordered the Thule/Konig ksummit since they were said to fit and wouldn't interfere on the backside where the clearance with the brake lines is small. Then I realized why pay $550 for a set of chains I may rarely if ever benefit from when I can pay $1500 and get benefit from the...- brianp6621

Condensation in headlights?
Why would it do that? I mean the plastic may yellow due to UV but why would this affect that?- brianp6621

Condensation in headlights?
So just to confirm, everybody is on board and comfortable that this is normal? I thought headlights were sealed units. Our brand new 17 Explorer looked like this from the dealer in 1 headlight. It went away the next day. When asked about it they quoted the same manual page. So no concerns?- brianp6621

Winter Tire and Wheel Recommendations
That would be great but in the bay area when it is dumping on Tahoe/Kirkwood it is usually 50-70 degrees in the bay area where I live. It is basically summer conditions, other than rain. That's why I don't want to compromise too much. It is almost never below 40 in the bay area except a few...- brianp6621

Winter Tire and Wheel Recommendations
Now I'm unsure. I'm concerned about all the driving during the week and the 150 miles up before we'd likely even encounter snow. This seems like a ton of wear on dedicated snow tires. Would great AS tires like the Nokian WRG3s (only during the winter on winter rims) make more sense?- brianp6621

It sounds like the Nokian are some of the best with the Hakkapeliitta R2 highly recommended in snow/ice. How do these do on dry? I need to have a good balance as we'll be in the bay area during the week on dry/wet pavement and then driving up to Kirkwood. Edit.. Reading more the Nokian WRG3s...- brianp6621

Winter Tire and Wheel Recommendations
I can find the 235s no problem but I'm a little worried about what I read upthread with 235s maybe being a bit on the skinny side when on pavement. Would do 245 in a heartbeat but can't find 4 of any 1 tire online Brian- brianp6621

Winter Tire and Wheel Recommendations
Thanks for your help. Sorry I missed your recommendation up thread. I have read the manual but was wondering several things. Why could I put chains on an 18" wheel but not a 20 if the diameter is the same. Because of width? Any specific chain/cable recommendations for when I go 18"s? Brian- brianp6621

Thanks for the reply. That's what I figured, so let me ask a few followups. What tire size should I be shooting for on the 18"s. I have been looking for 245/60/18 but see very little out there. Is this not a very common size. Only 3 blizzaks are avail on Tire Rack. My wife won't be good with...- brianp6621

I'm cross posting this a bit as this seems the more appropriate place. So we just purchased a 2017 Sport Explorer.
