00M12 Repair - Now dead
Battery issue is fixed. When I try and start it, the vehicle tries really hard to turn over but it just sounds like there is no oil in the engine. I'm concerned that it may be a bigger problem within the engine and I may end up taking it to the dealer. I think the CEL may have a new code for me...- rangerben446

Don't worry, I'm not taking any of the simple things as an insult! You are right, most times it is something very simple. It never occurred to me to test the brand new battery, I assumed it would be a good one...went back to the simple things and tested it, it's reading just over 8V right now...- rangerben446

Ok, thanks for your help so far. I appreciate your suggestions. As of today, the truck is still out of comission and now it is showing signs leaning towards an electrical issue. I did the 00M12 repair today on my 2000 Explorer sport. I was having all the symptoms associated with the 00M12(rough idle, rattling). It could very well be the start of a problem with the intake manifold gasket. I had the same problem, and it started out small with the same code (P0174 started to show later).
