Battery issue is fixed. When I try and start it, the vehicle tries really hard to turn over but it just sounds like there is no oil in the engine. I'm concerned that it may be a bigger problem within the engine and I may end up taking it to the dealer. I think the CEL may have a new code for me...

Don't worry, I'm not taking any of the simple things as an insult! You are right, most times it is something very simple. It never occurred to me to test the brand new battery, I assumed it would be a good one...went back to the simple things and tested it, it's reading just over 8V right now...
