    Thanks for the information Brian and Ray. Yes, I do have the tow package, with the 3.73 rear end. I don't do any serious off-roading. The Explorer is our family car and sees only limited off-road use. We use it for camping trips to the Sierra's, and tow a 19' trailer. Ted

    I have a 2000 explorer XLT v-6 SOHC 4X4, 4door. I have the option now of 4x4 auto, 4x4 high, and 4x4 low.
