to modify a 97 xlt or begin again?
My opinion? If it runs pretty good now, then modify. What engine do you have? I have a 5.0 (that burns no oil between 3,000 mile changes) with 211,000 miles currently. To me, yours is just broken in :D I just modified my stock air cleaner box slightly and dropped in a K&N cleaner and I estimate...- luvmy97x

Whirling sound at Idle
This is just a thought but, my alt has almost always had that sound. In my case it is for sure the alt, A friend of mine recently bought a brand new "rebuilt" alt for his chevy z24 and it whines pretty loud right out of the box. Mine actually overrides the cool mellow 5.0 sound at idle but...- luvmy97x

Any thoughts or guidance? I would like to get a performance muffler or possibly system without adding much to the noise level. As quiet as possible with low restrictions.
