changing the cooling fan
The special tools required to remove the fan were not available in the small town where I live. I tried several methods for releasing the fan, but to no avail--it was just too tight. I gave up and took it to the mechanic across the street. He appreciated the work, said he's been slow all...- professorweed

Operating Temperature
mine's cold, too I replaced my radiator hoses and heater hoses yesterday. I also flushed out the heater core and radiator, and the overflow container. I added new coolant at about 45%. I also noticed a big change in operating temp. I didn't change the thermostat because I didn't have my...- professorweed

changing the cooling fan
I must change the cooling fan on my 92 4.0L OVH because it has serious cracks after 215,000 miles. The haynes manual specifies a special tool for removal from the pulley, but that isn't available to me. Does anyone know of an alternate method to get the old fan off?- professorweed

Won't Start - 10/12/03 - Electrical?
My starting problem is solved--it turned out the starter I got from napa was defective. It was shorting out one of the brushes to the case. This vexing problem caused me to replace the entire starting system, with the exception of the harness between the ignition switch and pcm--I mean...- professorweed

Pinstripe Remove - Faint Line Leftover ?
I own a sign compaany, and we do a lot of vehicle graphics, including vinyl removal. I have to tell you that you probably wont get it to go completely away. You have some paint ghosting, some vinyl leach-out, and likely a coat of clear coat over the stripes. All of these combined issues will...- professorweed

Probably things like extra lighting, etc. =========================== Mexico Beach is 20 miles southeast...- professorweed

Weird Problem...Leaking Steering Wheel, Horn, & CC
I believe the fluid leaking from the steering wheel can only be from one source--the wheel is cushioned slightly with a gel-filling that has now began to leach out. This appears to be the cause of the horn/cruise control problem, as the goo is evidently caustic enough to leach out, it should...- professorweed

Steering wheel sticky - what's up with it?
I believe the problem is not with the leather surface decaying, but I think it is fluid from the gel-filling in the steering wheel that is leaching out. I have that problem and have a cover over the wheel to keep it off my hands. I have heard of others who have the black stuff oozing out...- professorweed
