My Sport thougts as I roll lots of miles
The Hankooks on my Explorer are rated at 51psi max. I've got about 40psi (checked with a precision gauge and the tires warmed up). in my opinion, I'm hardly taking a chance of killing myself or anyone else in a fiery crash. And I don't see any difference in the tire contact area between 35...- RN_WC

My Sport thougts as I roll lots of miles
Yep, so you are in the same neighborhood as my MPG. I followed your advice on the air pressure and pumped mine up a few days ago. My tires were down around 35psi.- RN_WC

Is that one HID and one stock that we are seeing?? That looks like a huge difference. Wow- RN_WC

My Sport thougts as I roll lots of miles
John, is this MPG from the computer or do you calculate the actual MPG when you refill the tank. Just curious. I'm finding these various quotes about MPG pretty useless without knowing if it's from the computer or calculated the old fashion way. My MPG from the computer is optimistic by at...- RN_WC

Holy Jesus, just picked up my Sport
Adaptive cruise is an awesome feature. I was not thrilled about paying for something I didn't really want (I didn't order my explorer) but I tell you it is one of my favorite features on my explorer.- RN_WC

My Sport thougts as I roll lots of miles
Got my sport on Dec 8. I've got nearly 5000mi on it now. No real complaints. MFT has not rebooted or given me any problems. I'm averaging about 19mpg with mostly highway driving. I calculate it myself on every refill. My best tank was 20.1mpg. Are you guys quoting MPG from the computer...- RN_WC

Painting or Plastic Dip Door handles
There was a new Ford Edge parked near my Explorer a few days ago. It was the same ruby red as my car and the door handles were color matched to the vehicle. The handles looked the same as the Explorer's. Apparently you get color matched door handles on the Edge instead of chrome. Has anyone...- RN_WC

Ambient lighting
So Ford put the light in the second row on the Edge but not the Explorer? Way to go Ford that makes total sense. Are the door cups the same? Could you get Edge second row lights and install them on the Explorer?- RN_WC

MPG on new Explorer body style
An update on the MPG from my Sport... My last two tanks I'm now averaging about 18.5mpg manual calculation. It seems that at about 1200 miles or so the mpg starting improving. That's also much closer to the MPG that the computer is calculating so it seems the actual mileage and what the...- RN_WC

Ambient lighting
My kids love the ambient lighting and its kinda grown on me too. I have it set red now to match my exterior color and it really helps carry the red/black theme of my Sport to the interior. My 16yo son suggested that Ford integrate the ambient lighting with the sound system so the ambient...- RN_WC

MPG on new Explorer body style
I've run two tanks of gas through my Sport now and I've checked the computer by calculating the mpg the old fashioned way - I fill up and reset the trip odometer. Next fill up I divide the trip odometer by the amount of fuel required to top off and repeat the process. On my last two tanks I'm...- RN_WC

This Forum Makes Me SAD... :(
D, it's pretty quiet here for sure. Fellow M3 owner and member/contributor on M3Forum.net myself. I think Explorer owners are just not the enthusiasts that you find on BMW and other performance brand forums. Not a lot of interest in shaving a couple 1/10ths of a second of the 1/4mi on the Ex...- RN_WC

Finally.... about to order an Ex
Sorry about your dad Kirby. I just bought a red Sport with the same options you described. I had to search high and low to find a red one with the bench seat. I found a couple with the buckets in the second row but I didn't want to pay $750 and lose seating capacity. Also, I leave the third...- RN_WC

White or black explorer sport
I was about to buy a silver Sport and then I saw a red Limited. Took me a couple weeks to find a red Sport and I had to travel to get it but VERY happy with the red with black accents and interior. Red is hard to find and the ones I did find had second-row captains which I did not want...- RN_WC

MPG on new Explorer body style
Picked up my new Sport on Saturday and drove it back home which was over 250 miles. I averaged a little over 21mpg taking it easy and varying my speed between 55 and 85mph - its TX we have some roads where that is the legal limit:-) My average has dropped to slightly below 20mpg now that I've...- RN_WC
