Help!!
If you would like an informed opinion, it would help greatly to know what drivetrain(s) we are discussing. I suspect they're the same and would drop in, but the Explorer models you mentioned are different... :exp:- BenEverywhere

Really possible to be 100% original suspension at 150K?
Indeed... I've always bought the best tires. BUT, those reading this should not necessarily go out and buy the specific tires mentioned. The "best" tire for a vehicle can vary by region and use. I will absolutely say the ones I have are ideal for what I do, living in the north where traction and...- BenEverywhere

Afraid to buy '04 Explorer!
There isn't any reliable way to predict a tranny failure on any car at 30K if it passes a test drive (go through all the gears manually cold, then again after it achieves operating temperature)... so, to alleviate your fears regarding this '04, let me ask you this: Could you give me the...- BenEverywhere

6 Disk in dash cd player problem
My CD changer choked about 3-4 years ago for the second time (first time was on warranty - nmp). I went through the same steps as the previous posters... took the unit out and tried to find a resource for the changer part. Finally gave up and was unwilling to spend $250 the dealer wanted for a...- BenEverywhere

Really possible to be 100% original suspension at 150K?
I should also mention that I'm on my second set of Michelin LTX M/S tires, since I replaced the BFGs it came with. Sometimes people underestimate the effect a superior tire can have on overall vehicle performance and reliability. With the BFGs, my truck started shaking around 85 mph or so...- BenEverywhere

Really possible to be 100% original suspension at 150K?
Yes, everything is original. I do have a lot of highway miles which tends to extend the life, but I also use my truck off-road frequently hunting. At times, it's been so muddy with caked wheels that I've had to power wash the undercarriage before heading home to keep my teeth from shaking out on...- BenEverywhere

Small factory hitch
HiImBrian is correct... the stress will be on your transmission. When towing heavy loads uphill, remember to turn off your transmission overdrive (O/D OFF button on the end of your shift lever). :exp:- BenEverywhere

Really possible to be 100% original suspension at 150K?
So far, I can vouch for 130K on an '05 Explorer I've had from birth. Seems like it has another 20K in the front.- BenEverywhere
