How to: Balance Shaft Timing Procedure
Removing the tensioner does not give enough slack in the chain to retime it. I have mine apart and it did not have a balance shaft chain tensioner from factory and was still in time!- Clarence Oosterhoff

Ordered cloyes timing set, complete gasket set, head bolts. Why doesn't Cloyes include the two jackshaft torque to yield bolts that need to be replaced to do the job? And $350.00 for the special tools.- Clarence Oosterhoff

Just acquired a 2001 sport trac. 225000k. Needs timing chains and some loving! We'll see how it progresses. Got the engine out today. Hole in right valve cover. Can see timing chain.- Clarence Oosterhoff
