Max. cargo area length 2015 Explorer XLT
Thank you Peter! That is great news! 80" is plenty... more than my Tahoe has. It looks like with the 2016 model year the overall vehicle length increased from 197.1" to 198.3". Not sure if that results in a difference in the cargo length, or just exterior/cosmetic changes. But even 78" would be...- Joerg

Max. cargo area length 2015 Explorer XLT
I'm not looking for a crazy lift. Maybe 1-2". Just enough to get bigger tires on without too much cutting. I saw pics of 5th gen Explorers with lifts online, and I have to say I really like the look!- Joerg

Max. cargo area length 2015 Explorer XLT
Perfect, thanks for the great reply. Sounds like it may be doable, but I guess the only way to find out for sure is to visit a local dealership with my sleeping bag :-) With the info I know what to look for now. Thanks again!- Joerg

Max. cargo area length 2015 Explorer XLT
Hi all, new member here. I am looking to buy a 2015 or 2016 Explorer XLT 4WD for off road camping trips. Sleeping in the back with seats folded down. I want to make sure I have enough room but cannot find the cargo area length anywhere online. Hoping someone here can help. Thanks!- Joerg
