MPG on new Explorer body style
With my Wife's '13 Base 3.5 V6, we get about 22 combined. Its' about 50/50 driving with city and hwy. On a trip to western NC (we live in SE Virginia) we got 29mpg, damn good considering it weighs over 2 tons and has a huge frontal area.- tstwings13

Transmission Sluggishness Question
I too have experienced this in my '13 base. Most of the time, the wife drives the thing, and she drives it smoothly. I drove it the other day, smashed the gas pedal, and it took a second for it to get going. It does feel like massive turbo lag. However I'm pretty sure its in the way the...- tstwings13

Bad or Burnt Exhaust smell in cabin during hard acceleration.
It's nice (or not depending on you look at this) to know that I'm not the only one experiencing this smell. I was a Chevrolet tech and service advisor for many years (although I was always a Ford guy) I know cars very well. This is not a "break-in" issue. There is no such thing anymore. Odd...- tstwings13

Bad or Burnt Exhaust smell in cabin during hard acceleration.
Hello from SE Virginia/ "burnt" smell I'm new here to the Explorer forum as I have recently purchased a 2013 Ford Explorer Base in red with the 3.5 non-ecoboost motor.
