There is an option to alter the brightness in the screen settings, but this is universal for all screens. You might get some joy there.....

Any abnormal noise in a $55K automobile compromises a good sense of value and quality. Such noises should be regulated to a 20 year old Lada 1200 costing no more than 10,000 rubles....that is to be expected. Jus' sayin'.... certainly not for this vehicle.

If you decide on AWD, make sure it does not have the front end suspension rattle. There are plenty of posts on this forum relating to issues of front end suspension noises while driving. It is very subtle, but once you hear it....you will always here it. There apparently is no known fix at this...

Its not the starter that should be of concern...its the turbos. These turbos are liquid cooled using the engine cooling system in addition they have a supply of oil that feeds the high speed bearings that carry the turbo rotor. When the engine shuts off using SS, there is a rapid heat build up...

Update for our 'clunking' Platinum. Dealer has agreed to cancel the sale on the Explorer seeing that we have owned it nearly a month, but it has been sitting in the dealership for all but three days of that timeframe. Instead we are getting a 2WD Aviator which will be checked very carefully...

Just closed out repair ticket #1, and opened repair ticket #2 for the same suspension noises. If not fixed by attempt #3....have an attorney retained as I am not dealing with the haggling. They can just keep it and send me a cheque whenever....

Exactly....not much of an improvement, and in certain places retrograde.

May need to offload the shocks in favor of Bilsteins. Seems like Ford OEM shocks suck anyway....
