Lateral link for 16" wheels??? Please help!

I only replaced the toe links, not the knuckle. Since my Explorer was built after 3/4/2002, my original knuckles were machined for 17mm toe link studs. None of the knuckles on Rockauto mention wheel diameter, but the toe links do. The Mevotechs that I mentioned earlier clear my OEM 16"...

Lateral link for 16" wheels??? Please help!

I just replaced the rear toe links on my 2002 Explorer 4.0 2WD with 16" wheels. Ford no longer makes the OEM part. I purchased Mevotech Supreme CMS40158 from Rockauto. They have 17mm studs. They were $36 each. I used the original pinch bolts as the new ones that came with the links were way...

Gas leak at front of fuel tank

I had a small fuel leak on a 2002 XLT 4.0. It was throwing a small evap leak code. It would actually drip on the ground with a full tank parked front low on my inclined driveway. Turned out to be a broken fitting to the evap canister on top of the fuel tank. Had to buy the entire hose from a...

I Hit A Deer: Questions About Rebuilding

Wow! Learned something new. Just checked my '02 XLT with a magnet. Sure enough, aluminum front fenders and hood. I had no idea, and I've owned it for 18 years!

    04 xlt gas leak?

I had this problem on a 2002 XLT. When parked on my angled driveway with a full fuel tank, gasoline would actually drip on the ground, especially so as the outside air temperature warmed up during the day. I traced the leak to a broken fitting on an evap hose where it connected to the charcoal...
