Placed an order with Etrailers late on Monday for a hitch and some other odds and ends. Today (2-3 days later), I received notification that the hitch wasn't in stock. I'm not pleased with how long this is taking. So I ordered the same hitch from reese-hitches.com.

Mine had a smell also when I first took delivery on it. Kind of a plastic/rubber burning smell. I'd say it probably stopped by 200 miles or so. I didn't really pay attention to when it stopped. It wasn't for very long though.

There's a place here in IL called Spring Align.. I know there's one in Palatine, not sure where the other stores are, but they can get almost anything that has to do with leaf springs and all that. See you're in Indiana.. Maybe check them out?
I replaced all the actuators in my 2000 with parts from NAPA (I get cheap parts because I used to work there) but when I went to get the rear hatch actuator, they didn't have it. Told me it was a Ford only part.
