Best Suspencion lift for a 2wd explorer sport?

Thanks, lol yea I thought about painting the gray plastic in black bedliner, but decided not to, I kinda like the contrast with the gray. As far as 35s, I could probably fit them with a bit of trimming.

Best Suspencion lift for a 2wd explorer sport?

Well the only performance parts i have done are a flowmaster 50 series exhaust and a swiss cheesed air-box, and as far as ranger parts I got them from a 2001 ranger edge, so i know those fit, for the most part. And I haven't the slightest idea when it comes to double shocks. Spindle lift in...

Best Suspencion lift for a 2wd explorer sport?

To be honest I went the SOA route because it was easier than doing a body lift, when you do a body lift you need to remount the radiator, the bumpers, and replace like 6-8 body mounts(or so my brother told me), plus you can no longer use the bumper hitch for towing. but with the SOA route I just...

Best Suspencion lift for a 2wd explorer sport?

Well I have pretty much what your talking about, I have an 01 sport with the Super lift SOA kit(5 inches in the rear) TT(2 inches front) and ranger lift spindles(3 inches front), so I have 5 inches of lift and i run 33 all terrains, which are a bit small. NOTE: not sure if all of this will work...

Little to no brakeing after i replaced calipers

Please make sure you post the cause when you find it, I have been struggling with a similar problem for about a week. Yet you are the first person I have seen on here with it who also had a 2nd gen ex.

brand new flowmaster not very loud

In texas you must have the tailpipe leading all the way out behind the passenger compartment, which kinda sucks As for drilling my airbox, it actually helped a LOT with both performance and sound. the sound is more defined now(i have a 50 series and it was somewhat muffled/mushy) and i have...

brand new flowmaster not very loud

Mine seemed to get louder over a few thousand miles, and it also helped IMMENSELY to swiss cheese the air box, and remove the "silencer" thing from it

    Rear Leaf Springs!

I dont know about re-arching, but you could get a AAL and shackles, that would probably put it a little over stock then you can adjust the torsion bars up front to correct most of the drivers side lean

Where to buy stock bumper bolts

Where did you run your power wire?

I ran mine over the top-back of the engine then through the passenger fender and in the door, then under the carpet to the back. If probably wasn't the best way, but i haven't had any problems with it

    What does this stuff mean??

Actually as far as i know, you cant put a locker in a limited slip differential, it has to be an open diff to start off, but whether its really needed depends on what your planning to get into, and if you plan on getting out. :p: Should you decide to get a locker, what you should do is go to a...

    What does this stuff mean??

A locker is a pneumatic, electric, or in some cases mechanical, mechanism for preventing any slippage in the differential, basically like a limited slip, but better and can be turned on or off. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Locking_differential

    What does this stuff mean??

shackles or an Add A leaf kit will get you the extra clearance in the back, or you could get a set of lift springs, but i would go with warrior shackles

    What does this stuff mean??

Pretty much standard as far as i know, also a limited slip differential has clutch plates in it the limit slippage of the back wheels. Open diff: http://auto.howstuffworks.com/differential2.htm LS diff: http://auto.howstuffworks.com/differential4.htm And the tires you can run: Dead Link Removed

    Backup batteries?

You will probably run into problems if you plan on using it to start the car, my brother has a yellow top optima in his truck box(ranger) that is wired to the cars electrical system. it starts fine hooked up under the hood, but it wont start when connected in the back, something to do with the...

    Colored Courtesy Lights?

Really? i would have thought being in the courtesy lights(and thus off while the vehicle is in motion) would be fine. I actually thought about doing this a couple of times, and i would assume you could replace them with some generic leds, with minimal re-wiring. EDIT- just looked it up, and...

    Inverter to kill battery completely

In case anyone wonders why im not worried about batteries, my dad works on hospital beds(some are battery powered), and when he replaces stuff if it looks useful he brings the old parts home, we have roughly 40 of these sitting in the garage, so even if I only get a few cycles it doesn't really...

    Inverter to kill battery completely

Okay so I googled this and came up with nothing: What I want to do is have a second battery to run an inverter off of, but I want to be able to completely drain the battery(yes I know this will destroy it but i'm not worried about that) every time I plug my inverter into something(even a 15w...

Warrior 153 shackles install with pics

when I did my shackles they came with one, but they were an off brand. what I would do is add a second nut to the bolt(if there is room) but I would say yes, after all, is the cost of an extra nut worth loosing your shackles on the highway? I think not....

Warrior 153 shackles install with pics

Your explorer doesn't have a solid axle in the front(meaning no leaf springs), so no you cant do shackles in the front, what you can do is a TT(torsion twist):http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=196965 As for the BL, that depends on the tires you want to clear, as outlined...

    Stock stereo aux port.

hmmm well you might be able to get one out of a 2nd gen with a cassette deck and cannibalize it to add in a AUX, not really sure though. Your best bet would be to replace the head unit, or buy a kit to do it, but they are pricey. You could try this, but i have no experience with it and...
