Well just had the old girl tested and it passed with flying colours. Not to bad for a nine year old vehicle. Another 12 months of motoring bliss ahead. :D

Finally got around to changing the plugs and leads. What a pain in the a*** job. It took me 2.5 hours just to do the one plug (the one up by the air con compressor) and about 20 mins to do the rest. My hands are scarred and knuckles bruised. Thank goodness I won't have to do it again for another...

It was time for some new rubber. These tyres are Bridgestone Duelers 694 (265*75*16). A bit more tread than the old ones. :D

For those of you who have broken the recliner lever. The first picture shows the old lever mechanism and where it breaks. The second picture shows the new modified and strengthen part from Ford. Finally installed and back to normal.

Well we had this spring to fit for Toms ignition switch fix. and it was very tight. So I came up with the idea of using cable ties to act as a spring compressor. worked a treat.

I just got a letter from Ford to change the upper and lower bolts on the drivers seat recliner as they are prone to break. Just a warning to others. It does not say what years are affected but mine is a 98. There does not appear to be a reference number but it was issued on 13th October 2003.

Trying desperately to get some new UJ's for my 1998 4.0 SOHC x and all the UK suppliers don't have the vehicle on thier lists only the sizes. Does anyone know either the exact sizes or a model number so that I can compare to what they can supply. Many Thanks for any help.
