Another IAC question. Got stuck now!

I had the exact same problem...after waiting a period of time (1/2 hour seemed right) it would start and run fine. I cleaned my MAF and so far it hasn't happened for a while now (knocking on would as I type).

    Anti-Lock brake problem

If that doesn't work then you probably have a sensor that's gone bad. I must have damaged my left front one (thats where I feel the ABS messing up when I brake) when I was mistakenly banging on my rotor to remove the rotor...I cleaned the sensor to no avail, so a new sensor will be in my future...

Engine dies when you let off of the gas pedal.

I'm gonna throw in clean the MAF as well as the IAC.

    ABS problem

Welcome to the forum. You probably have an ABS sensor that has gone bad. Do a search for ABS; you will find many threads about it. Have you plugged in a scanner to try and get any codes? That too will help narrow down the problem.

Two probs related to recent rotor change

One problem solved! The scrapping noise was the inner lip of the rotor scrapping against the heat shield in a very small section. I removed the caliper, took a hammer and a 1/2 inch long extension, and pounded a bit on the heat shield where the rotor was rubbing. Buttoned everything up, and no...

Two probs related to recent rotor change

I don't know what it's called...it is a small tab on the end of the pad, bent like an L shape kind of if I recall right. I might have it backwards...I've been seeing when I did a google search that the tab should be on the bottom side of the caliper not the top which I know for sure is that way...

Two probs related to recent rotor change

On the inner pads, where is the clip (anti rattle clip I think it is) supposed be? Towards the top of the caliper or towards the bottom of the caliper?

Two probs related to recent rotor change

Just checked, tail pipe has plenty of clearance.

Two probs related to recent rotor change

I don't see how my tail pipe would all of a sudden be making this noise when all I did was change the rotor...any other ideas? Like I said, it soinds like the rotor rubbing against the shield...same sound as if you were have a grinding wheel on a piece of metal.

Two probs related to recent rotor change

The caliper bolts are torqued to spec and have red locktite on them. As I said before, I don't suspect the parking brake since the noise only occurs during a hard left turn when the right rear gets a good load on it; any other time there is no noise at all. It sounds to me like the rotor is...

    Sometimes it won't start!

I'd say start easy first...clean the MAF. If that doesn't work, at least you eliminated the simple thing first...move to IAC next.

Two probs related to recent rotor change

Why would the parking brake all of sudden start making noise? It was fine before I changed the rotors and it is never used; the noise is only there when I turn left at speed. It sounds like the rotor is rubbing against the shield when I turn left at speed, but no noise at any other time. I'll...

Two probs related to recent rotor change

2000 xlt 2wd sohc 1. ABS chatter on left front at slow speeds (didn't try at greater speeds due to me not knowing the implications of ABS doing this). Removed ABS fuse (#7, 30A), not chatter, brakes work fine, ABS light lit. I cleaned the front two ABS sensors, still chatters with fuse in. I...
