V8 Swap with M5ODR2 clutch release issues

The conclusion to this saga after pulling the transmission twice is that the clutch disc was rusted to the flywheel ever. That was a first for me but finally got it resolved.

V8 Swap with M5ODR2 clutch release issues

The part number for the slave is the same for all the M5OD trans, doesn't matter what engine. I have also cross referenced the clutch pressure plate and friction disk also the same for all the 5.0 truck engines. Hoping the new slave will wrap this project up.

V8 Swap with M5ODR2 clutch release issues

Install the replacement master cylinder and it did not help. Pulled the trans out yesterday and ordered a new slave cylinder as well.

V8 Swap with M5ODR2 clutch release issues

I didn't replace it since it was working properly. I have ordered a new Master and will see if that gets before pulling the trans again.

V8 Swap with M5ODR2 clutch release issues

Yes I did measure and it was only around 1/4", Perfection clutch says it requires 5/16" to release.

V8 Swap with M5ODR2 clutch release issues

I have done this many times in the past and never had this much trouble. After researching all the master cylinders quite thoroughly 91 and up master cylinders are .630 bore. The master cylinders are the same size regardless of engine size according to RockAuto. Anyway, the whole point was, I...

V8 Swap with M5ODR2 clutch release issues

I have pulled the snap ring to bleed multiple times. I really didn't want to pull the trans out again. 410Fortune, So you are confirming that the small diameter master cylinder in the 91 and up trucks will work? If so I think I will try the new master first before pulling the trans More...

V8 Swap with M5ODR2 clutch release issues

It is the same part number as the f150 slave and doesn't leak, so I don't think that is the issue

V8 Swap with M5ODR2 clutch release issues

I have swapped a 5.0 into my 94 Sport with a M5ODR2 and attempted to used the existing master cylinder and slave that worked fine with the 4.0. It seems that the slave cylinder is not moving quite enough to disengage the clutch after bleeding it many times with different methods. Before I...

99 5.0 starts, runs for a few seconds then dies

Stock injectors and I didn't pay very close attention to the exact PSI, mainly I was watching for it to drop off and it did not. Regardless the truck runs great again after the new MAF that that is all we needed for now.

99 5.0 starts, runs for a few seconds then dies

I did try cleaning it but it did not help.

99 5.0 starts, runs for a few seconds then dies

This is actually in a 99 Ranger with the 5.0 swap. I have checked fuel pressure and it seems to be slow to build but stays in 55 psi range even while the engine is sputtering out. My first thought was fuel pump but I should see the pressure drop off, correct? With the MAF disconnected it...

    M5ODR2 Block plate

No 4.2 is not a typo, the truck I got the tranny from is a 2003 F150 with 4.2 V6. I am in the middle of the V8 swap. I got lucky and the salvage yard still has the truck and I hope to pickup the plate in the morning.

    M5ODR2 Block plate

Does anyone have the Ford part number for the Block plate (engine plate, starter plate, whatever it is called) for the 4.2 M5ODR2? I didn't think to get it from the salvage yard I got the tranny from and they won't answer the phone now. I have found the automatic version on Tascaparts.com but...

    1994 Sport Wiring diagram?

I remember reading through that threat a long time ago, I use the large diagrams for my 93 Thunderbird harness and they made it very easy, I could use the diagrams for the 97 explorer also but I've not found them yet. I really prefer the large schematics rather than the evtm.

    1994 Sport Wiring diagram?

Does anyone have a good wiring diagram for the 1994 Sport? Helm doesn't list this old of a vehicle, Haynes diagrams are too vague. I have found one online but it does a poor job of showing what connectors are what. I am working on a V8 swap and merging with a 97 5.0 harness, I am sure all the...

Can any other engines be used with 5R55E?

Did anyone notice I posted this in 2012? That explorer is long gone now, the 3.0 is a gutless low revving engine too.

99 Mountaineer 5.0 with lots of DTCs

My son swapped the switch and no effect on the problem. But the problem seems to be changing. When I first started the truck yesterday the left turn signal worked properly but it still flashes the dash lights with the turn signal. After the switch swapping now the turn signal does not work at...

99 Mountaineer 5.0 with lots of DTCs

Replaced the fuse and now it runs great again. I haven't driven it long enough for any codes to come back after I cleared them. I still have a an issue with the lights. The left turn signal stays on and does not flash, any ideas on that one?
