    BMXking's Axle Swap 1st gen. Coils/Radius Arms!!!

Well by all means :salute: I never met him but he was so young and I remember him from posts a few years ago. Sad to lose someone who's part of a family like the members of this site. R.I.P. brother.

    will 32x11.5x15's work on a tt/shackle explorer

I'm running 32x11.5x15 on my 96 with a TT and 2" lift leaf springs and have never had a problem except for mino rubbing on the front sway bar when at full lock (but only when going in reverse  ). I solved that by removing the front sway bar. Oh, I and don't have any wheel spacers.

Buldging chrome rims on 05 Explorer

I have the same rims on my 05 Limited and have not noticed this problem. I'm interested in what you find out. I'll have to keep an eye on my wheels to see if mine eventually do this.

    Changing Front Hub Assembly HELP

Try your local NAPA if you have one, I've gotten a few odd ball bolts from them when I needed them. Cheaper than a dealer, too

install i've been working on this weekend

Hey, as long as you build what the customer wants, right? I say get your money and have fun doing it. Nice work on the Escape, BTW.

install i've been working on this weekend

Could you have built it lower or do you get a better sound stage by mounting the subs that high up. Not picking, just curious since I've never owned a pick up. From what I can see though, nice work!

    skid plates

My 96 XLT came with them stock. I thought those were part of the XLT package.

    Almost deadly

This happened to me in a 15' box van as I was coming off of a highway up to a red light. When I realised I wasn't going to be able to stop I just threw it in neutral and pulled off on the shoulder of the off ramp. After shutting it off and checking everything, we started it back up and...

    F-150 8.8 Swap?

You are correct, it is a Sterling 9.75". It also has the metric 5X135mm bolt pattern, so if you were going to redrill the axles to 5X5.5, you would have to redrill the rotors also. Or else have different bolt patterns front and rear.

    this has to work

Jefe actually used a jeep axle to mock up and fab his SAS with the plans to use a Rubi D44. The only problem with using a Rubi D44 is (IIRC); price - they're expensive, gears are expensive since you can't use regular D44 gears and they are a mix of D44 and D30 parts. Other than that, yes...

I finally have my "new" truck (explorers tow well)

I was thinking about this thread the other day when I saw a similar year model driving just off base here in MO. The truck looks great (beauty rings included)! It's nice to finally see someone who wants to save the beauty of a classic instead of just letting it waste away in their yard.

    Installing a 7-pin trailer connection on a '99 XLT

This is the outlet I have mounted in the rear bumper of my X. Has both the 4 and 7 prong hookups. Plus I don't have to worry about losing any adapter (been there before  ). I bought it from WalMart for $20.

    Dana 44 build-up

I'm not leaving for there until the start of August, but I'll be going to Camp Casey. Time to go play with the 2nd Infantry. I was just getting ready to really start focusing on getting this SAS done by the end of this year and now I've got too many other obligations to take care of before I go...

    Dana 44 build-up

This has been put on hold until after I get back from Korea in late 2007. :thumbdwn: While I'm over there, I'll be saving up to finish this ASAP once I get back. It has been way too long, but I'm in a tough spot right now to do anything with it. :(

JoshC's chopped top with a roll cage

Your right, I think they only tie into the crossbrace behind the rear seat and there doesn't seem to be any vertical support for any of that area.

JoshC's chopped top with a roll cage

They're there, just a little farther back than the actual c-pillar. BTW, cage looks good, but I'm with Section, can we get some pics of how it ties into the frame? :)

technically i crushed my first car with my explorer

That sucks but it's good you have pics and an admission of guilt from the tow company. Stay on them to get it resolved. Rookieshooter: Too much coffee, or just a bad trip? :p

What i dumped the X for...

Nice car. And I'm glad to see they finally put the V8 back in the Impala.

    Moving up in the world!!!

Yeah, it acts like a torsion bar connecting each side of the axle to help while on relatively flat ground. I also figure that once I can finally get the SAS done, I won't be trying to out corner many vehicles anyways.

    Moving up in the world!!!

Currie Antirock Sway Bars It says they don't work as well as stock, but it'd still be better than not having anything at all. Plus, I'm looking at doing a 4-link w/coilovers front and rear, so I definately think this would help out on the street. Yes, I still want to keep this street legal...
