    Towing 2000 EB 4x4 v6SOHC, Tran cooler, 33's, 4.10 gears - pulinng Coleman Bayside

Hi all me again on the towing thread. So in the Winter months I have been able to add a Aux Transmission cooler inline after the stock cooler plus I added a FlexLite VSC and MarkVii fan and Red top Battery. I think for the last help for the summer camping i am going to have it re-geared...

Mark viii or Taurus Electric fan

Has anybody replaced the motor on the Mark Viii fan assembly, If i recall it seems like it had pretty big Rivets or something permanent holding it together. I could replace just the motor if it seemed like the right approach? Has anybody done this before.

Mark VIII 3 wire pin out

Just adding to my list of question- Lets assume that the switch to a 40 amp fuse does allow the VSC to controll the Mark viii fan on the low speed connection. Is there any way that i could still use the VSC and another option on the High Speed connection for Hot days or when i am towing...

Mark VIII 3 wire pin out

Ok so spent the weekend working on this problem again and determined the low and high speed connections along with the ground. Now the fan is spining the correct way and have added the VSC back into the mix, unfortunately I am blowing 30amp fuses with some frequency. I had hoped that the low...

Recommendations for Engine Swap into 2000 EB

This is a purely hypothetical question because the reality is i will probable never have the time or money to do this but what the hell we can all still dream. If and when my v6 SOHC tires out and the fact that I havent built an engine since i was 16 I have given it some thought of building...

Mark VIII 3 wire pin out

Mark, The other thing that is throwing me off is that i have connected the Flex Lite VSC controller to both black leads for the (+) connection and on one of them it works although it seems to be low speed. When i connect it to the other lead it blows the 30amp fuse supplied with the VSC. My...

Mark VIII 3 wire pin out

Mark, On my fan thou when testing it on a test bench i kept the battery charger negative lead on the light blue lead from the fan motor and rotated the positive lead to each of the black leads from the fan. One of the black leads caused a semi-slow fan rotation thus leading me to believe the...

    Help with VSC Flex lite

Ok next question, i got the Mark VIII fan mounted in the stock shroad with little to no room between the water pump pully and the fan electric motor housing. I am thinking that i will put a piece of pvc between them to introduce some flex and keep the water pump pulley from hitting the electric...

    Help with VSC Flex lite

Thanks Mark that helps a lot, I am putting a new battery in and hoses and serp belt so once i have those I should be able to quickly find the Alt power and then i can check some of the fuses until i find a low amp "Run" wire to control the VSC. From reading a Mustang post the other day is the...

    Help with VSC Flex lite

Half way through the installation of the Flex lite VSC controller in my 2000 v6 SOHC and I am missing two electrical connections that I have not decided where to tap into: 1. Ignition on Signal to tell the unit to power up. Seems this is a real low amp signal and not a power sources as there...

    Towing 2000 EB 4x4 v6SOHC, Tran cooler, 33's, 4.10 gears - pulinng Coleman Bayside

After our first longer trip with the new Camping trailer I think the v6 sohc, 33 tires and 4.10 ratio gears is not appropriate. I called and spoke with Hennings about a custom tune but his recommendation was to setup the appropriate gearing first before looking to apply a custom tune. On our 3...

How to Install a Tekonsha P3: 2000 Explorer

Had to install a 4pin to 7pin conversion kit this weekend on my explorer to pull a new coleman Bayside pop trailer that the family just purchased. The RV store and dealership wanted $300 for labor to do this work which I immediately balked at. It was a little more time consuming then I had...

The RV mechanic told me to run one of the 7 leads from the Alternator directly to one of the 7 pins thru a fuse 30amp block. The question that i have is regarding what lead on the alternator I should connect 2? I expected the largest lead on the alternator probable 6 gauge to be the lead...

    Towing 2000 EB 4x4 v6SOHC, Tran cooler, 33's, 4.10 gears - pulinng Coleman Bayside

Just read up on the Overdrive band adjustment the other night and that seems like a very straight forward maint item and maybe will assist with the temp while towing / rock crawling and also the weird 1st to 2nd possible slippage. I am using a Scan Guage II that outputs the Tranny temp...

    Font-end lift '00 XLT???

Nexron, almost everything that your inquiring about has been talked about in length on the forum so the good thing is your not alone at all. My 2000 EB has almost exactly the first set that your looking at and does require fender trimming for the 33x12.5x15 tires and wheels which your xlt might...
